"My husband and I were in town on business, and were specifically looking for an Indian restaurant. We are very glad TripAdvisor reviews led us to Saffron. We arrived just as they opened for their dinner service, at 5 PM, on a week night. The restaurant was empty, but we were met with a big hello and smile from the young lady at the front reception area. We ordered the Butter Chicken $16 made with the addition of coconut milk per my inquiry, because I like coconut , the Chicken Begam Bahar $17 , garlic naan bread $3.25 , and a mango lassi $4. They also brought us a basket with, I think, papadam crackers, and 2 different dipping sauces. The latter was complimentary. Our meals were served fairly quickly, and oh my! OUTSTANDING! Everything, right down to the crackers, was absolutely delicious. And the lassi was the best I’ve ever had very rich, and creamy. As an aside, patrons did start to fill up the restaurant as the night went on. As per the small ish parking lot right under the foot bridge, it’s probably best if you can dine earlier in the evening than later so you can snag a spot. But nonetheless, eat at Saffron whenever you get the opportunity. We travel to the DC area often, and will return to Saffron. I also want to say that if you have time, walk around the back of the little strip mall to visit the Indian and Middle Eastern grocers, which are almost next to each other. Both are gems, as well! In summation: 1. GREAT food 2. Friendly, prompt service 3. Clean tables 4. Good sized portions 5. Bonus grocers in rear of complex"

"We are on a personal quest for the best paella around, and remembered that Tasca de España was one of Abuela Mama 's favorite restaurants. Since paellas take a little bit of time to cook, we ordered samosas, garbanzo fritos and frituras de bacalao just to try them out. All good, however the frituras were my favorite! Our paella arrived on a big black pot, piping hot! Taste was excellent, with lots of shrimp, fish, calamari, and two huge gambas! It 's supposed to be for two-three people but I 'm sure our whole family could be fed with it. We 'll definitely be eating leftovers for a few meals. Liana was our service staff and we are sure this is one of the reasons our meal was so enjoyable. She 's friendly, answered all of our questions on the dishes, and made suggestions that were on point, including the awesome turrón and something dessert. All with a smile and excellent demeanor! ?? People have written comments about the oddity of a joint Spanish and Indian restaurant. The simple answer is that the owners decided to keep the original Spanish menu when they bought the restaurant, adding an Indian menu. It 's a simple if it ain 't broke don 't fix it decision on their part that I 'm pretty sure paid off in the long run. There is a store on one end of the restaurant with imported Spanish products, baked goods, and a beautiful boutique with Indian clothing and jewelry. All beautifully made by the designer there and fairly priced. She talked to me about the origin of the materials, how she designed them and how to alter the seams if I wanted the top to fit looser. Great gastronomic and cultural experience! We are sure Abuela Mama is smiling down knowing how much we enjoyed our meal and visit here!"
