"Eventually, they relocated us upstairs to the main dining area, which was also completely empty. The host promised that they would honor the high tea and happy hour menu in this space. However, at that point, the manager, Victoria, came over and informed us that they could not honor the happy hour menu. She was quite rude, and I felt she should have coordinated better with her staff before voicing her opinion. I eventually had to ask her to leave us alone so we could enjoy whatever was left of the high tea experience.
Later on, they did provide us with some complimentary dumplings from the happy hour menu, but by then, it felt too little too late. The whole experience was quite overwhelming for my mother-in-law, who has dementia. She was quiet and didn't seem to enjoy herself, feeling stressed by all the fuss the staff made simply because my husband joined us at a table for four in an empty restaurant."
