"We take a lot of road trips. This time we are driving from Central Texas to South Dakota. We love stopping for lunch at local diners. That is how we happened on Tiptons in Anson, Texas. This place is a serious throwback in the best way. They do have a sign when you first walk in claiming that this is not a fast food place, so if that’s what you are looking for, just keep moving. We were lucky enough to be here on a Friday when they have all-you-can-eat catfish. It comes with fries, coleslaw, beans and hush puppies. My husband ordered that. He is a fried catfish connoisseur and he said this was possibly the best catfish he’s ever eaten. I ordered the patty melt because I saw a review talking about how good it was. It was my first ever patty melt and I think it must be the best patty melt in the world!! We highly recommend this place. The food was so good that we ate more than we should have. The service was friendly and on point with our expectations. If you are through Anson at lunchtime, stop here. Especially if it is Friday or Saturday (for the catfish! ."

"I ordered the fried haddock plate, which came with two nicely golden-brown filets that I could hear sizzling in the oil just moments before, accompanied by what I initially thought was an excessive portion of hand-cut French fries. However, after tasting them, I realized it’s impossible to have too many of these fries. They were cooked to perfection, allowing the natural potato flavor to shine through, enhanced by a brilliant blend of seasonings. Truly excellent fries! The haddock fillets seemed to be dipped in batter and coated in a dry mix before frying, with the batter speckled with seasonings that I’m guessing included a few types of pepper as well as salt. The flavors did not overpower the fresh haddock at all. Even the house-brewed iced tea was just right. These folks really know how to take care of hungry diners!"

"During our six-night stay in Anson for family business, we enjoyed two breakfasts at Juany's, which turned out to be the best we had while there. Just to clarify something from a previous review, the restaurant has expanded to two rooms, accommodating up to 20 customers. The coffee is excellent, especially when compared to another place we tried nearby. The burritos were fantastic, made with perfectly prepared ingredients. The #4 breakfast is both substantial and delicious. We will definitely be returning to Juany's on our next visit to Anson."
