"Tornadoes are a negative possibility in the Midwest states. But, Tornado's Grub and Pub in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is an excellent and desirable possibility. Located near the Newbo area of downtown, Tornado has a location that is easy to get to from any part of town and plenty of parking. It is a warm, friendly place to dine in or carry out. All of this is great, but it is the superior food that brings people through their doors. Tornado's offers a great selection of appetizers and drinks to start your experience. Their menu includes many different breaded items from shrimp, chicken, and vegetables (including fried pickles). The bar offers a wide variety of tap, bottled, and canned beers featuring local craft breweries and the usual major distributors. The bar also offers the usual cocktail and a nice collection of specialty drinks to bring variety to your liquid suggestions. The menu offers salads and soups containing the usual fare, club salad, crispy chicken salad, sidesalad, and more. The strength of the menu is the sandwiches and burgers. The menu offers a nice and varied selection of sandwiches. It starts with the Iowa basic, pork tenderloin (breaded or grilled). Ruebens, French Dip, and fish are some of the items from this section of the menu. Bringing a twist to their sandwiches and burgers is what makes this the place to go for excellent food. Tornado's has an entire section of sandwiches that are presented on bagels! My favorite is the Twister Bagel, which consists of grilled capacola, ham, turkey, lettuce, and tomato on a bagel. But, the items that bring me back again and again are the BURGERS! Some of the burgers have names, but most are entitled by an Enhanced Fujita scale (EF) number, which is how actual tornadoes intensity is indicated. For example, recently, I enjoyed Tornado's F3 burger, which is not your average mushroom 1 2 lb. burger, served with brown gravy and Swiss cheese. I have already decided which burger I will order this week, the F4! The menu describes it like this...Call the fire dept. This 1 is hot bacon, Canadian bacon, pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, BBQ, and buffalo sauce. I like spicy food, so I am anxious to try this burger delight! To top their sandwiches right, Torando's sears the top of each with brand of a Tornado. Great location, warm atmosphere, fantastic service, with superior food and drink makes Tornado's my first suggestion to anyone who asks where to go for great food in Cedar Rapids."

"If you LOVE pizza then this your place. Pizza is dynamite!! I call myself a foodie and we tend to plan our travels around food. We have tried pizzas at the top places from San Diego, Chicago, LA you name it. This place outshines all those. The crust is hand tossed. It's thin but its nice amd thick around the edges. Its has a delicious flavor that makes you want more. Some pizzas that have a good flavor that depends on the yeast but this has something else. It has a nice thin crispy outside that isn't too hard to bite. When you bite in its like a soft marshmallow. It's chewy and wants you craving more. The toppings are so fresh. We ordered the Texas BBQ Chicken pizza and the classic supreme. The BBQ has a nice zest that doesn't ocer power the flavor of the fresh onions and perfectly tender chicken. The classic supreme has tons of toppings that are eat cut small so that the entire pizza gets plenty of each topping. Nothing is more disappointing than large veggies sparsley scattered that maybe 2 slices get a veggie. The flavors that this pizza brings will beat any pizza in this country. We also ordered the cheesey bread sticks. Its the same dough with the perfect mix of cheese. The marinara would make any Italian jealous. We also ordered the bonless BBQ wings. These again are perfect. The chicken was tender. Not tough at all like most chain restaurants. The breading is light and super crispy even after veing smothered in BBQ sauce. We will not be going any place else for pizza. We live over 45 miles away from this place but I will make the trip for this pizza any day. This will become your favorite pizza place once you try it. Don't just take my word. Let their flavors do the talking."

"When I finally reached the front of the line, I ordered two Black Angus Steakhouse sandwiches and requested that they be made without cheese and mushrooms, as well as double toasted. I explained that I had driven over an hour and a half and preferred crunchy bread that would stay warm on my way home. However, the employee simply replied, “We don’t do that,” and placed my sandwiches on the conveyor belt oven. I wasn’t able to get anyone’s name as none of the employees were wearing name tags or any form of identification. As I waited, I heard the employees putting cold ingredients on the sandwiches of the customers in front of me, who had also ordered Black Angus sandwiches. After they checked out, they asked for two sides of Au Jus dipping sauce, which they received without any issues. When it was my turn to add toppings, I requested lettuce, only to be told that my sandwiches had already been wrapped. I was taken aback and ended up with no lettuce or additional toppings. Also, when I requested a side of Au Jus, I was charged for it, while the previous customers were not. I’m not trying to blame those customers, but if you’re going to charge for items, it should be consistent for everyone. When I asked why I was being charged and requested to speak with the manager on duty about my simple requests being ignored, the young employee just walked away. I felt pressured to complete my payment quickly since there was a line behind me, so I left without resolving the issues. Once I got home, I found that my sandwiches had not been double toasted, they contained cheese and mushrooms, and the wrong type of bread had been used. Living far away, I had to throw them away. I understand that I should have checked my order before leaving, but I had prior commitments to attend to. I’m very disappointed that I have not heard back from either corporate or the shop in almost a week, despite using their feedback tool online and in the app."
