"Based on a recommendation from a kind staff member at nearby Stanton Hall, we stopped by Mammy 's Cupboard while passing through Natchez. Being particularly partial to pie, it didn 't take much to convince me to stop. Once there, the bright and cheery owner ushered us in and immediately made us feel welcome. From start to finish, our experience was both fun and funny. The owner chatted with us almost every time he walked by our table, whether to joke with us, show us what a certain menu item was as he carried it to another table, to talk about the area, our travels, etc. We settled on the roast beef sandwich and the reuben. As we began enjoying each, quite extensively, we were further surprised to learn that all the sandwich breads were made fresh in-house. The quality and taste of the sandwiches was excellent! Better yet, each came with a small bowl of vegetable soup and potato salad. The soup was very flavorful and hearty! To top it off, we had to go for some of that mile high pie, so we ordered a slice of coconut cream and chocolate cream. Wow! Talk about mile high! The meringue was in defiance of the laws of physics! Needless to say, both pies were delectable. We were ashamed to leave a little behind, as we were stuffed to the rafters. Overall, not only was the food excellent, but the owner 's attitude and friendliness made for such a wonderful experience. It was a delight to see him sweep through the room engaging and charming everyone with ease. Thank you for your hard work and devotion to your business!"
