"I admit I was only at Omar's for a dinner meeting where our group had the place to themselves. We were served a buffet where the offerings were all homemade and most locally grown — and this was at the end of November! (Omar apologized for the few dishes that weren't. The food was served buffet-style for our gathering, all of it very tasty and nourishing. Decor is old-time funky, with antique mirrors, signs and other bric-a-brac on the walls. The long center table where we sat was held up by cast-iron, foot-pump Singer sewing machine bases. I understand Omar's is famous for its $15 Sunday brunch. I'd love to try it someday, but that will take some planning as Omar's is 90 minutes from where I live. Before visiting on any other day besides Sunday brunch, call first as they are open only limited hours and days."
