Chef Eric doesn't disappoint. It was our favorite meal on our trip. The staff were so thoughtful, prompt and totally all hands on deck. What a delightful evening. Thank you 1587 Restaurant and Lounge.

My wife and I enjoyed filet mignon, three cocktails, a wagyu burger, beer, coffee, and dessert—all for a surprisingly reasonable price. Everything was delicious. The only challenge was resisting the temptation to order the same meal again before we left. Ver carta

Wow, this place really impressed us with its perfect location, stunning views, and excellent service and food. My wife and I enjoyed a much-needed date night while grandma and grandpa took care of the kids, and we could have easily stayed here all night. We highly recommend the filet and the tuna!

Absolute hidden gem of OBX, only a quick ride from the main strip. Nestled in a quaint Inn, this was the best experience we had on the entire island. The food was extremely fresh and well-presented. The drinks were also properly curated, clearly the sign of someone who is a master at their job. The true locals seem to have a home here too. Just the place we were looking for.

Everything was excellent! They seated us at the bar (which we enjoy) in minutes, and were playful and engaging. The decor looks dated in the professional pictures, but is welcoming and lovely once there. Chris made a quite fine 1587 Old Fashion, humoring me in my picky preferences. The mahi and the scallops were especially delicious and skillfully prepared! They don't necessarily understand the irony of a Roanoke Island restaurant celebrating the Lost Colony serving a chicken dish from Gainesville GA (site of Brenau University, which promoted the forged Dare Stones), but it didn't detract a bit from a particularly fine dining experience. One of the reasons that we choose to eat here was for the vegetarian/vegan options. My mother is vegan for allergy issues but can eat fish. The only fish on the menu was tuna (which she doesn't like and would not be local) and no vegan options but salad. She ordered the salad and the rest of us loved our food. But later that night , I saw a specials menu for that night had been posted on Instagram. With a Mahi Mahi special, which she might have been able to eat with a few adjustments. I dined here on two consecutive nights in late May 2022, and I was impressed by the food preparation, which is a fantastic addition to the culinary landscape of Manteo. Both nights, I ordered the fish of the day, and it was well-cooked, flavorful, and elegantly presented. There are only a few waterfront dining spots on Roanoke Island, and 1587 definitely boasts one of the best views. The dining room is cozy, with a water view from every seat—you're so close that it feels like you could almost reach out and touch the water.
