Amy's Ice Creams - South Austin

So many flavors! I had popcorn and roasted blackberry. Both unique and delicious.

The Oreo flavor is amazing! I also got Rainbow Rock which was delicious. Sweet cream, strawberry, and Belgian chocolate are great for a DIY Neapolitan. I will definitely go back next time I’m in Austin!

Love this cute ice cream shop on South Congress. Ordered the Mexican vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and pecan caramel sauce on top. LOVED it! The pecan caramel sauce was warm and paired well with the ice cream. Still thinking about it, can't wait to get it again! Ver carta

The sweet cream was so delicious, but the pecans I added lacked any flavor. Roasting them would greatly improve their taste and provide an experience that matches the price point. Also, you would get major bonus points if you had an awning or sunscreen overhead to shield customers from the Texas sun during their wait.

While scootering around on our first day here in Austin on South Congress, we spotted Amy’s right there with a long line of eager customers. The line could have been longer and we would not have known as we dissected the menu and ran mental permutations of infinite crush’n combinations. I ended with mint chip with strawberries crushed in (controversial, I know). She had the chocolate w strawberries. The ice cream was dense, thick, and creamy. A dream.

Food (5/5 stars):Amy's Ice Cream is an Austin staple. They have high quality ice cream with great flavors. We got Mexican Vanilla and Malted Belgian and absolutely loved both of them. I had a slight preference for the Malted Belgian, but the two flavors complemented each other and went so well together. I was debating which flavor ice cream to get at Amy 's. The cashier recommended the Mexican vanilla, but as I love chocolate I was deciding between the Belgian and dark chocolate flavors... I asked the cashier and he recommended the dark if I want something richer and more chocolate y. Honestly, it was still too sweet for my liking. I rarely don 't finish ice cream, but I could only eat about half my scoop. Also I didn 't get any toppings or crush 'ns ... it seems like a Coldstone type of place where they can mix the toppings into the scoop on a cold stone. Another solid ice cream spot with an awesome vibe and cool imaginative ice cream creations!Had just polished off some excellent pizza down the street at Home Slice Pizza and decided to stroll and came across Amys ice cream. A line was there, so we had to see what the commotion was.I wanted the avacado ice cream, but they were sold out. Was pretty bummed. So I ordered the mansplain mezican vanilla, biscoff cookies, and butterscotch sauce. I had never had bisscoff cookies before, but they were delicious. Tonight I finally visited this local ice cream shop and I must say, I had an amazing experience! From the moment I walked up to the window, I was greeted by a friendly staff member named Zorina who immediately made me feel welcome. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the flavors and toppings available and gave me some fantastic recommendations.I ended up trying a flavor combination that Zorina suggested and it was absolutely delicious. The ice cream was creamy, rich and had the perfect balance of sweetness.
