"Aromes may not be in Hampden after December, They will be moving to Calvert and Redwood Street by the theater downtown. Very creative, 6 course tasting menu only $65. Local purveyors. I remember smoked hay and trout roe with the best potato I ever experienced. The sauces were amazing. Baltimore is lucky to have such a creative New American/French restaurant in the manner of Volt in Frederick. here is the menu for this week: Roasted Squash en brioche, date paste, sour squash dressing Bintge potato, smoked hay cream, lovage oil, trout roe Lobster mushroom dumpling, spiced corn broth Black Bass, lima beans, pistachio dressing, green tomato buerre blanc Beef culotte, salted baked celeriac, peanut satay sauce Concord grape tart"

What an amazing experience! We wish we had come to this restaurant earlier, as we heard it will be closing soon.

A 2-hour meal is too long when most of the time consists of waiting between dishes however delicious and when the noice level prevents conversation.

Aromes offers extraordinarily well prepared dishes in a tasting menu. The smoked salmon (not lox! and duck breast are both outstanding, and the combinations of seasonal fruits and vegetables are not to be missed.

Expert cooking and a excellent food. Pleasant venue in Hamden; service was friendly and efficient too. Our only disappointment: The portions were tiny, really tiny (half a dozen or so fries with the steak frites, really? and no bread...come on, this is a French restaurant! Ver carta

We've dined at Aromes several times and I'm constantly impressed for the creativity and quality of the food. We had a six course meal for $65.00 per person which is a steal! Each course was simple yet phenomenal and interesting. One of our favorites was a hay smoked new potatoes in a parsley broth. We had a restrain ourselves from licking our bowls clean!

Aromes was a wonderful dining experience. The multi-course dinner menu was exceptionally fine food, sourced locally and presented in a unpretentious manner. The combination of flavors was original and very creative. And at $65 a person, it was realistically priced. It was really refreshing to eat such a good meal from a kitchen that obviously has a passion for food. We will definitely be back!

"Highly recommend Sweet Peaz Southern Kitchen! The food is served fresh and hot. We were a party of eight and ordered Fried Whiting with Yams and Mac n Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, French Fries, and Collard Greens. The Sweet Potato Waffles were absolutely delicious! The fried chicken, shrimp, and fish were cooked perfectly and tasted as good as they looked. The seasoning was just right—not too salty, allowing the flavors to shine. The yams and collards were a real treat for the taste buds. And the cornbread? Simply amazing. My only disappointment was that the first taste was free (haha). The Mac n Cheese was decent, but the Chicken Tenders didn’t quite live up to their name; however, they did remake them for us to take home. The space is small and simple, with old-school music that adds to the enjoyable dining experience. They limit dining to one hour to ensure everyone can enjoy the food, which I appreciate—I dislike when people linger for too long when others are waiting. The staff were friendly, making us feel valued and appreciated. Prices are reasonable. One downside was that many items were unavailable, including grits—which was a big letdown since I was looking forward to the famous Shrimp and Grits—as well as butter, potato salad, seafood salad, and tartar sauce. I recommend calling ahead if you’re craving a specific dish. Despite this, it was a great dining choice and lived up to the positive reviews. Overall, we left satisfied and would gladly return. Parking is street parking only, as there’s no dedicated lot."
