The Alpine Chef - Carta

We drove up from Virginia Beach just to try this place for lunch. It was definitely worth it Food and service were absolutely great Will be coming back

Everything is excellent! I’ve had several dishes and they are as good as any I’ve had in Germany. Very cool atmosphere and motif inside of an old rail station. Staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

The 6 six of us enjoyed delicious food, generous portions. We are looking to enjoying leftovers for another day. Chris B. was a great server. He was pleasant, courteous, and an asset to Alpine Chef. He was attentive but not intrusive. We will be back.

Was directed to sit outside. Sat there for over one hour. They had almost no business, not surprising. The server came out one time, handed me my beer, never returned. Had to go inside to find someone to pay. Bartender told me, we don 't have many people sit outside. As if that 's a legitimate reason to not offer service. Won 't be returning and suggest you avoid this place. I 've written very few negative reviews, but this was so bad that everyone should be warned. If customers matter so little, why even stay in business?

Some of the best German styled food I've ever had. This appeared to be an old converted train station that offered a lovely and elegant ambiance with sandstone walls, hardwood floors, unique artwork of German landmarks, and vaulted ceilings. I tried a seasonal special with Elk sausage, stroganoff noodles, artichokes and tomatoes. I tried the potato dumplings (they were just ok) and cream corn (which was delicious). My husband had the Alpine schnitzel, which he loved. For sides he had the German potato salad and the sauerkraut. The sauerkraut was the best I've ever tasted with a very unique taste. Sides were described as family sides made for sharing, but were served in small single serve bow...

So this is another one of those places that the wife and I have been wanting to visit for some time. As you walk in you get the feeling of being in a real German beer hall. The service was fantastic very friendly atmosphere. We started with an appetizer of the potato au gratin, which were loaded with bacon and cheese in a creamy sauce. Both of us thought it was fantastic. Then we had to fight over who was going to order the Jagerschnitzel, and alas I gave into my wife. However, I ended up ordering the Venison Wellington, which I'm glad that I drew the short straw that was equally fantastic.
