"I chose to sit inside overlooking the outdoor seating area. I ordered a beer — the Berry Berry Sneaky Sour. It wasn’t my favorite, but it was decent; I just tend to be picky. For food, I went for their OMG beans and Franks, which are similar to what we call beanie weenies back home—one of my favorite comfort foods. Brews Brats’ version did not disappoint! Their warm German potato salad was also among the best I’ve ever had. I couldn't help but notice what other patrons were ordering too. The pretzels are truly massive, the size of your head, and the brats are gigantic—seriously, they’re 12 to 14 inches long! I even saw a couple sharing one, and the pieces were still larger than a standard brat at most places. Another great thing, aside from the generous portions, is the price; those enormous brats were only $8.99! Overall, I highly recommend this place not just for the fantastic food and great prices, but also for their exceptional hospitality!"

This restaurant offers an impressive selection of locally brewed beers, wines, and ciders, along with locally sourced meat bratwursts. The onion garlic bratwurst topped with sauerkraut and a pickled egg was absolutely fantastic. Be sure to come hungry! Picture the largest bratwurst you’ve ever had and then imagine one twice that size—that’s what you’ll be served here. This “Husband Day Care Center” is truly a local treasure!

We tried the GO (garlic onion) brat, an andouille sausage, German potato salad, and OMG beans. Everything tasted homemade and was absolutely delicious. I can't help but wish I had the recipe for those amazing beans! Before we left, I had a lovely chat with the owner, who clearly cares deeply about his customers and their experience. He was a genuinely nice guy, and it was evident that he loves his restaurant and the community. I only wish he would relocate his entire operation to my hometown so I could become a regular! Vegetarian options: There are three vegan sausage choices (Field Roast), along with a variety of sides such as beans, sauerkraut, pasta salad, pickled eggs, and dill pickles. While the potato salad contains bacon, all the other sides are safe for vegetarians. They also offer giant pretzels and vegetarian nachos, though the nachos aren’t the main attraction here. Dietary restrictions: The restaurant is very accommodating for gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan diets. Parking: There is plenty of parking available. Service: Dine-in. Meal type: Lunch. Price per person: $20–30.

Loved the brats here!! We tried to go to this place one afternoon, but it was closed due to a labor shortage. We were so disappointed, but tried again next week. I'm so glad we did! We ordered a variety of brats and the large pretzel. The brat with chili was delicious with curry wurst. It was also huge and I'm glad that I shared it with a friend. The pretzel was also very tasty. It came with two dipping sauces- a sweet sugary one and a cheese flavored one. Both sauces were very good and I couldn't decide which one I liked more! The pretzel itself was very soft and just salty enough. The prices were incredibly reasonable for all of the food that we ordered! I wish they had a place like this n...

"We had a very mixed experience this evening. We visited Hazelnut based on some high praises from our Airbnb host and a gentleman from Seneca Lake Kayak. It’s a cute place and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were sat at a table in one of the front windows, which would have been awesome except there were about 10 flies climbing on the window treatments and buzzing around us non-stop. As we looked a little closer, there were multiple areas around the windows with clusters of dead flies trapped in spider webs. It was gross. My wife and I have 20+ years of fine dining experience between the two of us so we are no strangers to front of the house customer service and attention to detail. We also understand that it’s likely impossible to completely avoid flies in a rural setting but there is absolutely no excuse to not have these windows cleaned up before seating people at these tables. It would take minimal effort to tidy it up before opening for service. Even if some flies are buzzing around, we really don’t need to have multiple fly graveyards this close to our table. We did ask if it would be possible to move to another table but they, unfortunately, didn’t have the space to move us to another table at that time. We received a couple “I’m sorry ??‍” apologies. After the first apology, our server immediately asked if we wanted another cocktail and I thought, “oh, that’s nice, since they know we are bothered by this fly situation and they cannot move us, they are going to buy us a round”…. Not so much. This is restaurant hospitality 101 where we come from. It would have costed them next to nothing to buy us a round and the gesture would have gone a long way! Instead, we left feeling disappointed, annoyed and like WE were bothering them by being put off by the flies. Anyways, on to the good… overall our service was good and, more noteworthy, the food was excellent. Thoughtful dishes that were all well executed. The bread service with the chive butter and beautiful salt crystals was a nice touch. The corn fritters and the salad with turnips and “Kentucky prosciutto” were both stellar. We followed that up with the hanger steak, tagliatelle pasta and a side of the crispy potatoes from the burger entree. The pasta was great, the hangar steak was beautifully tender, seasoned well and the earthy fontina sauce was nice. Getting the side of crispy potatoes was a great move because they were equally amazing. Not only were they superbly crispy, they tasted great with the curry aioli as well as the fontina sauce from our steak AND the leftover pasta sauce. The food itself is worth a visit, maybe just ask to be seated away from the windows …unless you want to share your $150 dinner with a party of flies and their dead relatives. A little attention to detail would put this place near the top of the list for dining experiences in the area."
