"We encountered a brewmaster’s dinner at a fixed price. The menu sounded interesting, and it was, more so than the actual 5 courses. The wait staff, brew master and chef were friendly likable stewards for the evening. The paired beer tastes from Fruition Brewery were interesting and complimentary with the courses. The courses started and ended on a high interesting gazpacho and passion fruit dessert , but the three courses in between tended to all taste the same…too dry, too much Dijon ? , too many pickled accessories. Some local fresh seasonal vegetables, maybe some fish or poultry would have been appreciated. At $125 per person tip, it was not a value, or particularly memorable enough to make me want to make another reservation soon."

"We reserved a table for 8 on Friday evening but turned into a table of 10. They were so accommodating, we’re able to add a table for us. Food and service were fabulous shout out to their clam chowder which we find the best in Capitola and the lobster ravioli! So delicious just needed more bread to enjoy the abundant sauce :"

"Ordered on door dash. Got a 10$ drink almost a third unfilled. I call the store to politely complain. Whoever answered the phone referred me back to doordash saying that they would refund me. People who’ve used doordash know that they mess up almost every order and at some point they stop refunding you for their mistakes. I told her this and she says “cool… we’ll thanks for letting me know….”You know how expensive these drinks are. I bet they’re not nearly empty when you make your own drink at the store. I ordered two extra shots of caffeine and somehow it was still near empty. I’m not surprised at the poorly made drink but I am surprised at the service and the rude response from whoever I spoke to on the phone. First and last time ordering here"

"Golden Fu Wah is consistently the best Chinese and Chinese-American in the county. I have never been disappointed by my experience here, and I am often impressed by the quality of the ingredients used to prepare dishes. On our most recent visit, we ordered orange chicken with broccoli, vegetable chow nein, and hot sour soup. The chicken was tender and moist with sauce that was flavorful but not overly sweet. I could tell that real orange peel zest had been used to flavor the sauce, not just sugar like budget places. The soup was perfect. Just the right consistency, not too watery or too thick. The spice hits on the first spoonful, and it stays with you without detracting from the flavor of the dish. I highly recommend Golden Fu Wah for a big lunch or a ... well, a big dinner, too. The portions are generous, and even though I'm a big eater, I always have leftovers. Be sure to ask for Sing if you call to place an order. She is super friendly, attentive, and always eager to make sure that customers feel welcome."

"Despite making reservations through OpenTable and confirming that the restaurant was open both on their website and with a sign in the window, we arrived to find that it was closed. The door was locked, lights were off, and chairs were stacked on tables. Our group of three had to come up with a new plan as our reservation turned out to be pointless. I called and left a message to inquire about what had happened on their end, assuming there may have been an emergency. Unfortunately, no one returned my call. It was disappointing to experience a miscommunication and then a lack of communication, especially considering the many wonderful meals and gatherings I had enjoyed at this restaurant before."
