"A local friend recommended this restaurant because of their red beans, sausage and rice and catfish. They did not disappoint. We dined in and had a very friendly server. From the tempting menu we instead chose a tasty crawfish étouffée and meat pie (flaky crust and lots of filling platter with dirty rice, each served with a fresh side salad, and great tasting iced teas. This was a very good and filling lunch! A bit more costly but definitely worth it! We did ordered the catfish and red beans, sausage and rice with bread pudding to go for our local friend!"

"This is the worst canes I have ever eaten at. The breading did not attach to the chicken. The breading is thick and tasteless. The sweet tea tastes like it is made with pond water. No exaggeration. I have eaten at a lot of canes and never have I tasted food this bad."

"This place is super typical of tourist areas. The wait was low…about 15 minutes but we were there early. By the time we left it was close to an hour (just a warning..don’t go expecting to walk in). Our server was new and friendly, very gracious. Though not quite knowledgeable about all the menu options. My bf wanted etouffee and she pointed out something on the menu and he ordered that. It could not have been more wrong. It was more like fish covered in Alfredo sauce? Not great. Def not etouffee. His Mac and cheese side was over cooked and dry. My filet was fine, but just fine. Nothing more or less and presentation was weird. It was a petit filet but came on a big plate with nothing else. The sides were separate but just random to use such a large plate for such a small item. I got two sides…why not put them together?Hands down the most amazing thing was the potato. We probably won’t be back as we were tourists just like everyone else. But would return for the potato. Get it. Get all the potatoes!"

"More than just a dinner. My wife and I are from San Antonio, Tx, but we’re born and raised here in Natchitoches. We popped in late last night for the Ahi and steak. The food and service were both excellent! We were not surprised at all by the level of quality, when we found out that the new owners were actually our wedding planners back in 2002. They hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Mason Louisiane, we exchanged vows under a 200 year old oak tree on the riverbank and actually had our wedding reception at the Mariners! It was also ironic that I actually worked at the Mariners during the 80’s while attending NSU. So many amazing memories, I think we have a new tradition now. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the excellent bar service as well. Will definitely be back. Congratulations!"

"My father, and I eat here quite often. We live about 50 minutes from Sam?s, but y?all !! It?s well worth the drive! I?m telling y?all, the prices are so reasonable especially for the amount of food you receive. The service is ALWAYS impeccable, I know theowners of this location by going in there, and they are some of the best people you?ll ever meet! This is my own personalopinion which everyone is entitled too, but I?m telling y?all Sam?s Southern Eatery in Natchitoches ..is where it?s at!!????????"
