Cow Quince - Carta

This is by far the best place I've ever eaten. My favorites are the Duck Confit and da Pancake! We've been there half a dozen times and the food is absolutely a 5 stars for a low price. Let me tell you, I was in many expensive restaurants and that makes them all.

Cow Quince was fantastic! They showed a very interesting and very tasty brunch special French toast that worked so well. The BLT was for dying, combining Madison Sourdough bread and all kinds of local ingredients. To complete it, our server was so friendly and accommodating for our group of eight. I recommend spending your time and money at Cow Quince.

I want to give this 5 stars, but there were a couple things that turned me off. This toad in the hole was truly a work of art. The front ambience was amazing. Love the local food- the flavors really came through! The service was quite nice. I really didn’t like the flavor profile of the **** Mary, and peeking toward the back kitchen didn’t look clean or up to date. The bathroom was really old, and the sink was missing a handle even. The restaurant has a quirky coffee shop vibe, yet it functions as a full-service establishment. Parts of the building remind me of an old barn, adding to its charm, even though it's located in the historic city center. The bathrooms are certainly unique and worn, with separate hot and cold fittings. There's so much character in this place that it feels special. We also really appreciated our efficient yet friendly server, Tara. I can't believe we waited so long to visit, but we’ll definitely be back soon!

If you enjoy Farm to Table food and are close to New Glarus Wisconsin, this is the place to go. The most important ingredients come from a 40-mile radius of New Glarus. Between the 3 of us we enjoyed perfectly seasoned and portioned bisquits and gravy and 3 cheeses and onion grilled sandwiches served with fresh cherries and yogurt. They have their own blends of teas and coffee, of which I had later. Talk about a large cup of coffee, fat and not bitter in the least bit. When the check came, it was surprisingly affordable compared to a normal restaraunt. The ladies were so friendly. Our new favorite in New Glarus!

Cow and Quince is tucked away in downtown New Glarus and you might miss it due to its unassuming storefront. However, don't overlook this spot; it's definitely worth a visit for its refreshing twist on classic dishes, like the Toad in a Hole! I highly recommend trying the Truffle Shuffle. It's made to order (I opted for sunny side up) and features two eggs smothered in shiitake mushrooms, accompanied by a wonderfully light summer salad, two slices of smoked bacon with Parmesan, and delectable toast. The Savory French Toast is another must-try! It consists of a thick slice of French toast topped with lightly sautéed kale in a creamy white sauce, complemented by a delicious slab of pork belly....
