"we chose a day trip here from chicago. the city is small and quirky and so is the crane and pelican. the restaurant is located in a historic house with a magnificent view of the river mississippi. above the restaurant is an art studio. we had the hummus teller appetizer and I got the gnocchi, the only vegan option that is specifically identified on the menu. it was really delicious and something different with a hauch of lime. veggies were fresh. the portions on the gnocchi were quite small (my man had a meat store sandwich that was big enough for two people). I recommend the vegetarians. many options available. the atmosphere was fairly covered and I'm pretty sure that the cook would accommodate and ask vegan."

Recently visited this restaurant with my family. We tried the baked brie and the pelican's nest, which were both delicious. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich, which was very tasty.

The food at this restaurant is delicious and flavorful, and the staff is wonderful! They hosted my friend's rehearsal dinner and catered her wedding two nights in a row. Everything we had was fantastic. Ver carta

on the I-80 I stopped here and had a great vegan burger. they have a few other vegan and vegetarian options, hummus, salads, pasta and sandwiches. the restaurant is really cool, it is in an old house and overlooks the mississippi river.

Welcome to the river boat captain's house. The service was impeccable, and the views and atmosphere were amazing. The food was very well prepared but somewhat limited, which is good for someone who has a hard time deciding. Highly recommend for a romantic lunch or dinner.

I had a very satisfying experience with the Sunday brunch at this restaurant. Despite the limited options and the lack of variety each weekend, the quality of the food exceeded my expectations, especially considering the reasonable price. Overall, a great value for a delicious meal. Ver carta

We chose Crane and Pelican for our wedding reception and there isn’t one thing I would change. Mandy and her crew did an amazing job! Everyone raved how much they loved their meal. It’s hard to keep chicken breast moist and tender and even the leftovers were good! Of all the things you need to worry about for your wedding, if you chose Crane and Pelican for catering that worry can be forgotten because they are dependable, reasonable, and their food is amazing!

"During our visit to Le Claire, Iowa we stumbled upon 129 Coffee and Wine Bar while strolling along the street. We were looking for a spot where we could sit outside and enjoy views of the Mississippi River, and this quaint little bar fit the bill perfectly. The outdoor deck, which faces the river, offers stunning views—especially if you're lucky enough to catch a river cruise ship passing by. However, with only about four tables available outside, seating can be limited during busier times. Our experience was quite pleasant. We were greeted promptly, however our waitress was busy and tried to be attentive throughout our visit. The outdoor space was lovely, although some nearby patrons were a bit loud, which slightly detracted from the relaxing atmosphere we had hoped for—not that it was the establishment's fault. We eventually moved inside and found the bar to be cozy and inviting, with various seating options, including bar seating, high-top tables, and a cozy corner table with cushioned seating for four. The atmosphere inside was cheerful and welcoming. While we didn't order food, I tried their espresso martini, and my husband had a Pinot Noir. Both drinks were decent, though we found them to be on the pricey side. For a cocktail like an espresso martini, which was over $10, I expected a bit more flair in the presentation, such as a coffee bean or cocoa garnish, but this one lacked those touches. Overall, we loved our experience and will definitely return the next time we're in Le Claire."
