"Wow… what a find!Curious Toast Cafe is a counter-serve breakfast restaurant and coffee shop located in downtown Albuquerque at 718 Central Ave SW. It opened mid-July 2021.The ambiance is eccentric and engaging. The seating ranges from couches to lounge chairs to traditional dining chairs at tables. There are nooks patrons can eat in spread over three floors (check them all out! , or they can eat in the main dining room. On the second level there’s a witch’s shop called Glitter Alchemy with witch-related items for sale. On every floor the walls and corners are decorated with art, of which some pieces are for sale.I ordered the Roadrunner BLT for $15, which came with a side of fruit or breakfast potatoes. I chose the latter. The BLT consisted of green chile aioli, bacon, romaine lettuce, sliced cherry tomatoes, and roasted green chile strips. I chose sourdough for my bread option out of the six options (the others are whole wheat sourdough, seeduction, gluten-free multigrain, pueblo, and tesuque .The toast was delicious. It was nice to have the chile aioli and breaded baked chile as an addition to the traditional BLT ingredients because it added to an otherwise tame, traditional dish for a more interesting flavor profile. I took some of the meal to go and it wasn’t soggy at all when I finished it later in the day since the lettuce protected the bread from the moisture in the tomatoes. The dish didn’t feel too heavy even with the bacon, and I’m already wanting to try another entree selection. The side of potatoes was a nice addition; I’m glad the toasts come with a side to round it out as a meal. The ingredients seemed fresh and high quality. The experience, meal, and ambiance equaled a 5/5 with no reservations in my book. I’m already wanting to return to show my other half this place."

Quirky old four story building, full of artwork from local artists. Excellent coffee and friendly staff. Plenty of room to bring laptop or journal or just read a book.

Everything was top notch. Unique, fresh, and flavorful including the special “bacon, green chile cheese bread pudding with a green chile cream sauce”. The atmosphere was art filled, unique and cozy. Ver carta

If you are a writer, this place is a must to hang at, very eclectic. Coffee is good, plenty of toasts and sandwiches. Ran into Darryl Picket, Disney writer and imagineer. Park on street on area just east of building. And, good atmosphere to write in.

I've been visiting Toast for a few years and have witnessed its impressive evolution and growth. If you're hesitant due to reviews from over a year ago, I can assure you that they've made remarkable improvements. They incorporate local bread and produce, and the staff is fantastic—truly passionate about their work! With great coffee, a lovely atmosphere, and delicious food (not to mention unique and fun ideas), they really have everything you could want!

Cozy location with good brunch options based mainly on bread. My equivalent of mushroom on toast was very tasty with a nice consistency of the topping sauce. I do wish there is a bit more of the topping at times. There are several bread options including standards like sourdough and multi grain plus less common ones like pueblo. I got the seeduction slices and it tasted fresh.Location is actually very cute, and is a character in and of itself. Only drawback is food comes out quite slow as popularity increases (maybe time to hire more!)As a side note, I do believe that they open sometimes in the evenings for Art Walk or other events. Check out their socials for up to date information. Ver carta

Second time coming here. First time was lovely. This recent experience was not satisfactory. My partner and I arrived and paid almost $40 for two plates, just for us to sit and wait 45 minutes for one plate. Out of politeness I waited to eat my meal thinking his plate would arrive soon. It did not, it took an hour for his (I had to remind the crew that his plate had not arrived after the hour passed)We were disappointed as everyone around us received their meals before ours. It was very busy and the crew is always friendly but I feel that there should be more hospitality and preventive steps taken to avoid this issue for next time. We had to eat our food cold and left feeling very let down.

I'm sitting at a table in the cafe as I write this, unable to wait another moment to tell the people of Albuquerque what a fantastic gem we have in our city! I've been wanting to try Curious Toast for months, and today was finally the day. I am SO glad I stopped in! This beautiful historic home turned cafe brought a smile to my face from the moment I arrived. As I approached the front steps, I felt a warm, eclectic vibe. The staff greeted me with cheerful smiles, and their pride in the restaurant was evident. Jadyn's patience and recommendations for this newcomer were greatly appreciated—she was spot on! I opted for something sweet and ordered the Coffee Cushion. French toast soaked in coffe...
