"Harper’s Catfish is THE local restaurant in Scottsville. A hidden gem locked in time, the restaurant is still family owned and operated with the restaurant being almost exactly the same since it first opened in 1978. Grandma took my fiancé and I here for a special dinner treat! The waitress we had was kind and prompt with our food. The interior was like stepping right back into the 1970s and had such a local, retro charm! I got the Adult Fish Plate with Fries and Hushpuppies. I had always wanted to try catfish and I got to have the best as it is all caught locally here! The fish was delicate, piping hot and fried in a simple but delicious batter with salt and pepper. Dipping it in some tartar sauce was just the best. The fries were good and I also got to have my first hushpuppies (fried corn puffs) which were nicely seasoned! Overall the platter was super filling, yummy and satisfying. They also had an all-you-can-eat coleslaw bar, which Grandma happily helped herself to. They only accept cash and cheque here, so don’t bother with any cards! We’d love to come back here next time we visit Grandma and Papa in Scottsville! It is such a gem of a place. "Party of three. We ordered the Diablo shrimp, enchiladas suizas, and the special dinner. Sauce on shrimp tasted like chef boyardee spaghetti. It was vile. The chicken in the enchiladas was very tough, and the third meal didn’t make it to the table until we asked for our waiter and he seemed surprised that we didn’t have all the food. Once it finally arrived, it was a disgusting unrecognizable mess. Waiter seemed put out when we requested more chips and salsa. Overall weird experience. $60.00 worth of VERY bad “food.”"

"Most the time I have a good experience here. Lately, not so much. My orders have been messed up. Today I ordered the grilled cheeseburger, no mustard add garlic butter. When I got it there was mustard and no garlic butter. The nice lady said she'd have them remake it. I wish I could share the picture I took. When I say my sandwich was sitting in a pool of garlic butter, the wrapper had a puddle of it in it. I didn't mess up the order. But when correcting it, they didn't need to go overboard. "The dead flies in the window seal had nothing on the world's saddest plate of nachos. It's like they took taco salad and put it on a pile of chips instead of in a bowl. I got a package of taco sauce and a package of sour cream... Not a bowl or side.. a package.. I was extremely disappointed as even the fried food was underwhelming... I mean how do you make soggy fries in a deep fryer? By not cooking them fully or having cold greese....The wings were delicious and their cocktails are on point .. if you like vodka pineapple juice and orange juice... The server was very polite and we didn't have to wait long at all to get our order... It was just some sad bar food for sure"
