"Grew up in ParkSlope and have been to almost every restaurant. Easily one of the best dining experiences and definitely the top Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. We had a big group for NYE and ordered +12 dishes. Everything was very good. The calamari was awesome and fresh, the veal, chicken parm, penne, seafood salad, etc. literally knocked it out of the park with every dish and I would say the 8 of us are a bit fussy and go to Manhattan a lot to eat. Actually came from Carbone 3 days earlier. Carbone is awesome and very chic but this place hits home with me with an extensive menu not as uptight and everything is awesome. The owner/chef is sweetheart. I hope more people go to this spot as Gowanus is a cool area and if I were to support a spot in the neighborhood it would be this one. I may get some hate for this but a lot better then Two Toms, the historic restaurant that Fai Bene took over for. Ambiance is old school and the dishes are classic NY Italian (not as modern) but you can tell how fresh and how much care they put into their food."

A great spot! The service was outstanding. The food was well priced and delicious! Try the clams casino! They will rival the best in the city! Also had the veal picatta!

Great food, nice upgrade to Two Toms, still have the double-cut pork chop. Delicious food, we've been there about 4 times so far, will def be back. Chef knows what he's doing, great menu, check it out!

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while. Great value. Margherita pizza among the best I’ve ever had. Chicken Parmesan perfectly thin, crispy, and tender. Penne A La vodka amazing. Can’t wait to come back again.

You can tell that the guy who runs this place is dedicated and is truly invested in the place. The chef comes out to check on every table. The burrata appetizer was so good, incredible pesto sauce. The veal parmesan and the veal rollatini were both so well cooked. The pasta is all great. I would like to come back to try the pizza. Ver carta

This establishment is part of the "Too Good to Go" program, which is meant to provide $14.99 worth of food for just $4.99. Restaurants join this program when they have excess food they want to prevent from going to waste. However, when I arrived, the impolite waiter merely offered me the complimentary bread typically given to diners and claimed they had no food available. It's frustrating that they participate in the program if they aren't going to follow through. It's a waste of my time and money. Very disappointing and inconsiderate.

We landed at FB for my birthday with a large group and did not know what to expect from the humble exterior and decor but we were in for a treat. I almost did not want to write this review because I wanted to keep this place a secret since everything we had from the baked clams to veal parm to the specialty pork chops were out of this world. This old school Italian restaurant delivers on authenticity and taste with flavors that are truly special. If you're fortunate enough to speak with the owner/chef you'll be transported to a time when Italian meals were a time to join the family, savor home cooked Italian and just enjoy...

A fantastic Italian restaurant in the heart of industrial Gowanus that feels like a throwback to the 1960s even tho it opened in 2020. Something for everyone here on the menu, and good value throughout. Ordered the Two Tom's pork chop, 3 juicy chops served as a well browned roast smothered in spicy cherry peppers and onions... delicious. The roasted vegetables and potatoes on side were also tasty. Friends had pasta, veal, chicken... and all raved and ate their plates clean.. Octopus a good appetizer choice, as was the fried calamari and zucchini. Even the bread with the herbed olive oil/balsamic needed a refill. Tiramisu at end was the real deal, ladyfingers and all. Don't let this place go. Ver carta

For our main courses, we each ordered a personal pizza. My friend opted for a margherita pizza topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and fresh basil. I went for the pizza pignolata, which came with tomato sauce, mozzarella, sausage, pine nuts, and broccoli. Both pizzas were perfectly charred, with a crust that wasn't doughy at all—more like flatbread. They were satisfying without being greasy or heavy. Overall, our meal was delightful, and our server was attentive, refilling my friend's wine glass without us needing to ask. The bill was quite reasonable, too. Fai Bene was a pleasant surprise on a Sunday evening, and I was happy to see more customers coming in as the night went on. I hope m...

This charming old-school Italian restaurant in the neighborhood features friendly and courteous staff. While the prices are reasonable, the food unfortunately did not meet expectations. We tried the baked clams, which the waiter highly recommended. However, they were excessively breaded, with a thick, flavorless coating and hardly any clams inside. We also ordered the papardelle a la mama, which had a nice al dente texture, but the cream sauce was too rich and overwhelmed all the other flavors. Although there were peppers, mushrooms, arugula, and prosciutto in the dish, none of them stood out against the sauce. I was disappointed, as I had high hopes based on the great reviews and pleasant a...
