"My friend brought me here after a morning hike near by. My expectations were high because my friend had talked this place up. I’m happy to report my expectations were surpassed. This hole in the wall, mom and pop shop is just what the heart desires. Home down soul food with a modern twist. The I ingredients are simple but the orchestration is unique. The flavors and combinations of sauces and textures make this place unforgettable. I had cornbread topped with lean Carolina style pulled pork and chicken mix, covered in homemade pimento cheese sauce, homemade bbq sauce with a side of bbq collard greens. Although the food was out of this world good that’s not the best part. The best part is the owner working as a wait staff. This lady is the nicest person I’ve meet in a long while. She came over to our table to check on us and we continued to have a conversation for 10min. I learned about the history and how she comes up with recipe ideas!! Overall a great place to visit for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend for families or singles on a quick date. Have fun and enjoy this delicious food and family!"

"El restaurante estaba convenientemente ubicado para nosotros y el menú tenía buena pinta. Cuando llegamos, no tenían forma de verificar una reserva y no tenían una mesa lista para nosotros. Alguien tardó unos 15 minutos en saludar a nuestra mesa, por lo que ya podíamos decidir sobre nuestra cena cuando un mesero nos habló por primera vez. "We were seated on time and placed our order, but then things took a turn. Four share plates arrived within just 2-3 minutes of each other, leaving no room on our table. We were informed that this was due to their small kitchen and that dishes must leave the kitchen as soon as they’re ready. However, I don’t think that’s acceptable; it indicates a lack of proper management. We certainly didn't need all four dishes arriving within the first 15 minutes of sitting down. Isn't the essence of French cuisine about savoring and enjoying the experience? As for the food, the marinated calamari was overly vinegary and barely edible. It was so fishy that we suspect the vinegar was meant to mask that unpleasant taste, which should not be a characteristic of calamari. We received only five pieces of calamari, each no larger than a nickel. The anchovy and fennel special was a hunt for any trace of anchovies, and my husband joked that maybe they were hiding in the calamari to explain the fishy flavor. This was far from the enchanting evening we had hoped for. We left feeling unsatisfied and went around the corner to Frank's Cafe, where we enjoyed a relaxed meal with small dishes and dessert. Our romantic night felt rushed, with our entire dining experience taking less than an hour from the moment we sat down to when we left. Not cool at all."

"We love coming to Hamilton’s and often do. Last night, however, the steak salad was mediocre at best. Steak was very tough, portions inedible and unable to be cut with the knife provided. I told the waiter the steak was very tough and requested a steak knife. He brought the steak knife but there was no follow up or comment on his part as to my satisfaction w/ the steak. Half of it was left on my plate. Not good!"

"We were so lucky to get two seats at the bar for dinner here on a Monday night. The food, service, and ambiance is amazing. I had the braised lamb with orzo and figs from their special rotating menu and my husband had the pasta bolonasge and we shared the grilled halloumi cheese. Everything was great but the lamb was by far the best. The bartender gave me a great wine recommendation too. I wish I had a second stomach to eat more. Definitely make a reservation, especially"
