"It may not seem very spacious at first glance, but if you head towards the restrooms, you'll discover there's quite a bit of additional seating in the back. They also have a few outdoor tables. While I was out exploring as a tourist, I found myself in dire need of coffee. This place caught my eye first, even though we were originally searching for a Starbucks. The lively crowd definitely drew me in. I must admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the iced coffee since it tasted a bit weak, but it served its purpose. I wanted a touch of sweetness, so I ordered one of their chocolate brownies. It was delicious—rich and just the right level of sweetness. Plus, it was a generous portion, almost comically large! The staff were friendly, and the prices are fairly typical for coffee shops, especially considering how close it is to all the government buildings."

There is a great variety of desserts and beverages available. I only had the chance to try a slice of the white chocolate cake. The atmosphere is conducive for getting some work done, and the service staff is excellent.

We went back a second morning in a row on our weekend trip to D.C. their sandwiches are so big you can share with your spouse. And what really brought us back was the friendly staff. A friendly, caring staff really makes the difference in the atmosphere of a place!! Good job Firehook.
