"What an absolutely amazing place and meal. Upon walking in me and my two girlfriends were greeted with a warm welcome and smile and seated. We were told about the appetizer and dinner specials and offered a drink. I got the meatballs as an appetizer for us all to share which had a great flavor and was delicious. For dinner I had the beef tips, huge portions and well seasoned. We were offered a desert of fresh blue berries and peaches with ice cream and whipped cream The server was very polite and attentive, the owner took time to check on us as well as chat about the place and a little bit about herself. The chef introduced himself as well. To say the experience was delightful is an understatement, an absolute amazing experience."

"SO ANGRY! Today is my 60th birthday and all I have been craving was pizza. My husband and I had a couple of drinks at the bar and then ordered a pizza. I SPECIFICALLY mentioned how much I HATE anchovies, but my husband likes them. We EVEN had a conversation with the bartender about this!We ordered a pizza with anchovies on ONLY 1/3 because the taste spreads.We got home and the pizza is covered with anchovies.It may not be a big deal to some, but as my “requested” birthday dinner, it WAS a big deal to me.I called them and they took my number and as of yet, I’ve heard nothing. So very disappointed in The Tavern."

"I went there just looking for a small portion of shrimp as I recently had bariatric surgery and can't eat much. They kindly explained they didn't just have a small side of shrimp on the menu and offered the buffet, but I explained to them about my surgery and the owner said no problem. He came back with a perfect sized order of fried shrimp and said it was on the house. It was delicious! I will definitely be back later when I can eat more for the excellent food and great customer service."

"This was sort of a random place to stumble upon for some lunch. It looked really cool because there was a crowd when I walked up, but I soon realized lots of people call in their orders and take it away to eat. This crowd must love their fast food/fried food because there wasn't much to choose from. This place has fried foods, hamburgers, hot dogs, nothing special. I grabbed a hot dog and a drink since there didn't seem to be much else that would be remotely healthy. What was intriguing was the outdoor seating area. There is sort of a deck with wooden picnic tables. I sat at enjoyed my lunch since it was a gorgeous day and the wind coming off of the river made it a great place to dine. I just wish it would have been better food. The hot dog was bland and I received ketchup and mustard packets to go on it. Seemed more like a concession stand rather than a place to dine. It was super cheap, which I guess could be a positive. Things must have changed since Andy T was there or perhaps Thursday lunch is different because there was no BBQ and no buffet. Also, no styrofoam plate, just paper wrapped around my dog. I'll probably steer clear unless there is some outdoor music going on because with such a great locale and amosphere for seating, this place could be the tops if the food was better."
