"My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Griffin Tavern! We stopped by after exploring Shenandoah National Park all morning and were in the mood for some delicious comfort food. We both ordered burgers that were incredibly tasty. The fries on the side were perfectly crispy and the house-made pickles were a delightful touch. We will definitely be returning to Griffin Tavern the next time we pass through Shenandoah. An added bonus was being able to bring our pups onto the terrace, where they were warmly welcomed by the staff with treats and water bowls."

We ate in the bar tonight with first come first served seating! Another great meal (ate it too fast to get a pic) with wine and desserts! Can't go wrong with a stop here ?

The service was a bit slow, but the burgers were incredible, so it didn't bother me. The restaurant is lovely, and the staff is very friendly. It seems like everyone is short-staffed lately, so just relax, enjoy the atmosphere, your company, and the delicious food. Ver carta

We stopped in here as our lunch break during our first ever Spyder Group Ride! It totally added to the fantastic day we had. The burgers were so delicious. The group took up almost the entire bar area but the employees didn't miss a detail for the orders.Good food, nice atmosphere and nice people. Will stop in again.

Despite the fact that our group almost filled up the entire bar area, the staff paid attention to every detail of our orders. Griffin Tavern was so great! My husband and I visited after driving out of Shenandoah National Park and hiking all morning and we were craving some good comfort food. We both got burgers and they were SO delicious. The fries that came as a side wereperfectly crispy and the house made pickles were such a lovely addition. Looking forward to coming back here sometime again whenwe pass through Shenandoah! Bonus: Pups are allowed on the patio and welcomed by staff with some treats and water bowls.

"Reem was the most accommodating host I've ever encountered during my travels and in my time in the hotel industry. Check-in was effortless with the keypad entry. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully luxurious, featuring a comfortable bed, soft linens, and a cozy couch. The bathroom was also generous in size, and I found myself wanting to take the mirror home! Our room overlooked the gardens and patio, which were beautifully lit in the evening. The restaurant had a modern yet comfortable vibe, blending casual elegance with chic décor, including oil paintings, rustic farmhouse doors, tin tiles, and special touches throughout. Reem and her staff welcomed us warmly into their home, and I appreciated the time they took to help us choose our meals. I opted for the house specialty, the ravioli, while my husband selected a seasonal dish. The service made us feel like family—perhaps even royalty! We enjoyed a delicious meal, paired with outstanding wine, and dessert that was simply irresistible. I savored the warm strudel with sour cream ice cream, while my husband relished the espresso chocolate mousse with frozen mascarpone. Honestly, I would have happily devoured both desserts—they were that good! The next morning, we sipped coffee in the gardens and took our time enjoying a leisurely breakfast. We explored Washington, VA, and Sperryville but decided to have breakfast at the quirky and delightful Skyward Cafe right across the street. It was an easy 45-minute drive to Flint Hill, and I wholeheartedly recommend spending an evening at the Blue Door Kitchen if you're looking to be treated like family, indulge in delicious homemade pasta, and meet a passionate staff dedicated to their menu and service. The Inn is a fantastic choice if you're interested in exploring the surrounding area and its wineries. Our experience was wonderful, and we can't wait to return!"

"Flint Hill Public House was recommended to us by the inn that my husband and I were staying at over the weekend. After hearing mixed reviews from other guests we decided to take a shot and give it a try. The dining room was beautifully decorated and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waitress was knowledgeable and able to make suggestions at our request. My husband and I ended up choosing the crab cakes and catfish per her recommendation. Unfortunately both entrees were quite a let down. The catfish was raw in the center and the crab cakes were runny and served with almost raw red potatoes. I love potatoes, so trust that this was not a deal breaker for me, but the crab cakes left left much to be desired. My husband and I both have many years of experience in the fine dining industry, so we are not ones to complain unless something is truly undercooked. Upon informing the waitress of our problem with the catfish, she returned to say the chef was sorry and that the cut was rather large and must have been the reason for the poor prep of the dish. At no point did the chef offer to further cook the dish or offer a dessert to make up for the poorly cooked dish. My husband and I were not looking for a free meal by any means, but when a chef acknowledges the reality of a problem and nothing is done that is a true breakdown in customer service. We will not be returning on our next visit to the area."
