Old-fashioned restaurant. Complete with a bar like the old single guys would sit at when you were younger. They're quick and the food is good.

Easy access off the fwy, plenty of parking. Solid options for breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. We ordered breakfast. The portions are huge!! We all walked away full, maybe a little too much. The cinnamon roll was tasty. The hash browns crunchy, and Montana has the best sausage links I've ever tasted.

This place very very very busy!! We stood at door waiting to be acknowledged for like 10 min .. people behind us got seated before us.. the waitress an waiter looked at us an walked passed us how many times ... Bridget our 5 host and server, was very polite, friendly and helpful. The place is family friendly, has high chairs, booster seats, booths and tables. I ordered the lite meal, chicken tenders, they were hot , juicy, and tasty the honey mustard sauce tasted homemade and the French fries were hot . My husband got the house burger and French fries . It was loaded with bacon, tomatoes, lettuce and Swiss cheese. High quality hamburger meat. My husband could only eat half of this sandwich

The Hanging Five has been around for a long long time! This was where my grandda would take me when I was in town! Memories always flood in when I walk thru the door! It is clean, and not to loud so a nice place to chat! Jon was a great waiter, filled with smiles and a warm welcome! I was not prepared when I realised what family that great big grown up lad belonged too! tis a Butte thing). Lastly, this is the place I have always been able to sit down and have a proper Butte pasty! It definitely passed muster! Glad we were able to enjoy this childhood favourite!! In all, good food, good folks, and good chats!

My family and I have been coming here frequently for years (since 99) and we rarely ever have an issue. Today, however, it took 30 minutes for our food to come to the table. The people next to us sat down 15 minutes after we did and they got their food first? We were just about ready to go somewhere else when the server finally brought us our food. Worst yet, we don't even know her name! But, she's been working here long enough for the bad habits to be broken. Looks like she's still full of bad habits. We definitely will not be giving her a tip. I think we'll be looking for a new place to go to more regularly. Very disappointing. Ver carta

Hanging Five came highly recommended by the front desk clerk at the Comfort Inn, and we were more than happy to reward her with a slice of German Chocolate Cake for her excellent suggestion! I ordered the halibut dinner, while my husband chose the tuna melt. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Our waiter, Taylor, was friendly and attentive from the moment we sat down until he brought us our desserts to go. We were impressed to see that the restaurant was bustling with locals during dinner, with a steady stream of customers being seated and only a brief wait time. The entire staff was always on the move! We wholeheartedly recommend giving Hanging Five a try.

Ever wonder why or how a restaurant gets it 's name? Hanging five is a surfers term generally, but this place isn 't on a coastal beach it 's in Montana! Having lived in Montana i can assure you that there are no coastal beaches. With that said, while i was dining i was unable to get an answer to why the owners chose this name, i always like a good back story. If you ever eat here, after reading, and get the answer send me a message, please! Anyway, the place is a great local diner! Staff is friendly and attentive! The food is high quality diner grub. A very mediocre restaurant. The inside is really nice clean w/ modern decor. Staff is friendly, although we were told that they no longer offer coloring for the kids to preserve their tables. Considering they market themselves as a family restaurant, that was very disappointing. Their coffee was ass. Very thin watery. No milk substitutes are offered. Most food items were passable. Hashbrowns were crispy mostly tasty. Eggs were overcooked. Pancakes were rubbery. I asked if they used maple syrup the waitress said yes but it was clearly more like Aunt Jemima or Log Cabin.
