"LOVED this place! It is a hidden gem! Ordered the dinner special that came with choice of 4 sides from the line, hot water cornbread, soup or salad. Worth the $20!!!! Everything ordered was perfectly seasoned and filling! Hearing the history of this place and favorite dishes from regulars that visited every week was also an added bonus! Can’t wait to come back!"

"I don't know what happened. It's been a while. This once upon a time treat on 127th Street has lost its flavor. We used to come here regularly, as a treat from the usual burgers and fries, recommended by a family friend who hipped us to it over 20 years ago. The Italian combo with a side of cheese fries was our traditional go-to order. But this most recent trip put us in a trick bag. The sausage was a series of smaller overcooked meat portions arranged to fit in the bun. The beef didn't merit mention. Dipping it, drowning it with cheese sauce, adding chunks of green pepper could not disguise the fact that something was amiss. Add on the almost $25 cost for two orders pretty much sealed the deal. Baby, bye! COVID recovery and inflation has ruined the joy of good tasty food everywhere. Money and time wasted, again. Daggone it."

"Called me in about 8pm today, looking for a gyro. I’ve never had a bad experience with their lamb gyros…however, today I did to my shock!! I’ve ordered from here at least 50x in the last year w/o an issue. I end up calling about 9:10pm(after closing), to let management know I was dissatisfied with my meal. Not only did he answer the phone, after hours, he apologized for the meal not being satisfactory and taking so long to be delivered (I didn’t think it took so long). Dave, I really appreciate your kind and great customer service skills. This is what customer service should look like. Thank you, Dave! I will be back lol"

"My husband and I decided to try this place because it had decent reviews and it’s not far from home. It was our first and last time here. We were seated immediately but it took a long time for anyone to offer coffee and it took even longer for our food to arrive. I had the chicken fried chicken which was literally just a plain fried chicken breast without breading and I had to ask for the gravy for it. My husband ordered the bacon waffle and it was pretty much a rock hard frisbee with one slice of bacon thrown on top of it for about $13. You’re given plastic utensils and he almost broke his knife and fork trying to cut into it. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Make the drive into Oak Lawn to Golden Bear, Huck Finn, or the Original Pancake House because this place was disappointing!"
