"Well, found a gem today. The 1940s steel and wood A1 Diner in Gardiner is such a classic Amercian Diner but with also some great modern meals (scallop BLT, Gorgonzola risotto, blue cheese meatloaf! I settled for the more pedestrian Reuben and fries but it was just as good as any of those other named dishes I’m sure. Not too far off of 295, I will drive out of my (as I did today to come back. 5 stars. And kudos to the friendly and patient front of house staff who was running the whole place single handedly! Thank you."

"I'm a bit disappointed. I've tried going there three times on a Thursday, and they were closed every time, even though their hours state they open at 7. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. While the food is outstanding, I'm having a hard time justifying a return visit. Each time I check online and plan my visit, only to find them locking their doors long before their stated closing time. I really want to enjoy this delicious food, but I've already spent over $50 on gas only to be turned away at the door."

"We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance while searching for something unique to try in a city we don’t often visit, and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. The menu looked promising right from the start on their website, but we were a bit unsure as we entered. To our delight, we discovered a charming and cozy atmosphere! The back room, which is finished in pine, was immaculate and inviting. The food was incredible—homemade and bursting with flavor. It’s definitely worth the trip, no matter where you're coming from. Be sure to try the Bastanoosh and the meatballs!"

"Last night 's experience will not be repeated. It was only my second time at The Depot but it will be my last. First let me say that I wanted to support a locally owned business. I also fully understand that kitchens and waitstaff are short handed. With that being said, waiting an hour for two crappy sandwiches is a bit much. I asked our waitress if there were any specials and she told me no, only for me to glance over after ordering and seeing a list of specials on the board. If she 'd ever returned I could have changed my order but she didn 't. 50 long minutes later our food arrived. My son 's BLT had two lousy slightly microwaved pieces of bacon with slimy Turkey and cheap white bread. Mine was just slightly better but it was like no pulled pork I 'd ever seen. It consisted of a spoonful of pork chunks covered in bbq sauce. At this point it was a total bust. Neither of us felt like eating the food and the waitress never checked in with us. I asked for the check and left a cash tip only to just now see that my bill went from $26 to $33. I even went so far to write the word CASH under the tip. Apparently she created her own tip in addition to the cash I left and received a $10 tip on subpar service. UPDATE- The owner is refunding me the money which I appreciate. He acknowledged the error and made it right. This does not change the fact that someone created their own tip."

"The food at this restaurant is consistently fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. The staff is exceptionally friendly, always greeting customers warmly and ensuring that they will be attended to as soon as possible, even when busy. Despite the young age of most of the staff, their service is impressive. I have never had a negative experience at this restaurant, even after multiple visits with my family. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a local dining spot. Food: 5 stars."
