Awesome food. Matt our waiter was amazing and thanks again to Sal for your hospitality. The garlic bread with hummus was a great starter. Will definitely be back.

The Chesterfield will not disappoint! Old world charm but new world sensibility. The service is wonderful and there's no bad choices in the menu I recommend the Greens morelle as a appetizer. I had the chicken Salvatore and it was very good. Lots of flavors! The coal oven pizza looks great and could be a nice appetizer for a table of 4 or more. Ver carta

The drink refills were a bit of a hassle. The bartender at the bar seemed to ignore our empty glasses, and it took 20 minutes to get a refill for my Coke at the table. The calamari wasn't seasoned well, but the greens were delicious. The chicken francese was cooked perfectly, but the hats tasted like they had been prepared in unsalted water and then just reheated. To top it off, I was charged twice for the Coke that they took forever to refill.

Pizza Review Only: Fantastic ambiance and friendly service. The thin crust pizza approach is a welcomed addition to the upstate pizza scene. Ideally this approach uses wood (think Gruppo in nyc or Pistarios in Frederick, MD). This pizza however is cooked using coal. The benefit of a coal fired oven is that the pizza cooks quickly. The downside is residual charcoal flavor which isn't quite as welcomed on a pizza as when it's cooked in a wood fired oven. Dough, sauce, cheeses all rate highly.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Chesterfields the food was great! But the planning and coordinating with the restaurant was an absolute nightmare. The week of my wedding I did not even know if the dinner was happening. The day before the dinner they told us that the person who put together our estimate was wrong and the price was actually hundreds of dollars more. They do not communicate over email and over all ridiculously hard to get a hold of. I would NOT recommend this restaurant for large group meals. Ver carta

We started with a generous appetizer of Utica greens—escarole sautéed with Italian meats, mildly spicy peppers, and plenty of garlic, all topped with breadcrumbs. This rich dish could have easily served four people. Accompanying our meal was a hot garlic loaf drizzled with olive oil. For our main course, my husband and I shared a plate of Little Purses, which are small pasta pockets filled with various cheeses and served in a creamy Alfredo wine sauce with peas. I went to Dominique's Chesterfield Restaurant while in Utica on business. I found this restaurant on Tripadvisor (of course) and decided on it based on their reviews and their menu. I called in my order for Chicken Riggies but the girl on the phone didn't sound too enthusiastic. She seemed almost irritated that I was placing a take out order. I picked up my food at the bar and was told by the female bartender that some bread had been thrown in to go along with my chicken riggies. I've never been to Chesterfield's before, so I don't know if those who dine-in also get complimentary bread. The bread, it turned out, was actually an entire mini loaf of garlic bread. We visited Chesterfields based on a recommendation from the front desk staff at our hotel. Coming from Rhode Island, which has a strong Italian influence and a section in Providence known for its authentic Italian cuisine, we were pleasantly surprised. Chesterfields surpassed even the best Providence has to offer. The garlic bread alone is worth the trip. With its soft texture, robust garlic flavor, and generous portion size, it's truly the best we've had. We also ordered calamari, which was perfectly cooked and served in a large portion.
