"All the food is the same color and texture. No flavor, super greasy. “Chicken” was rubbery, noodles tasted so funky. All entrees, sides, and appetizers were just no good. Staff was nice enough and portions are larger, but no one in my family could eat more than a couple bites without having to throw it all away. Inside is hot with no A/C, super run down, and I’m assuming not up to local code requirements based off the conditions observed. We have lived in Waterloo for a long time, and never had the desire to stop at Ja Bowl. We decided on dinner on night on a whim, and ended up here. The food was your typical Chinese with a buffet type option as well. The service was ok, and the atmosphere was the typical Chinese sit down (older decor, dingy and dark).
