"Nuestra familia disfrutó de los asientos al aire libre y los servidores hicieron un trabajo fabuloso moviendo otras mesas adentro rápidamente cuando la lluvia golpeó de la nada. Estábamos bajo un paraguas y un gran árbol y no tuvimos que movernos y la lluvia terminó rápidamente. Nuestros hijos adolescentes no han estado en muchos restaurantes agradables y les encantaron los aperitivos creativos, especialmente los picatostes caseros en la ensalada César, ¡delicioso! Todos tuvimos muy buenas comidas y estábamos demasiado llenos para el postre, lo cual es desafortunado porque he tenido el budín de pan de chocolate con Baileys antes y ¡es divino! Hay muchas opciones sabrosas y disfrutamos las vieiras, así como el pato, el pollo a la lima y el flanco. No te puedes equivocar!"

"No es mi tipo de lugar. El bar / taberna tenía clientes gritones y ruidosos en un día en que no había nadie alrededor. Realmente un menú de degustación, plato para adolescentes, porciones para adolescentes, mala relación calidad-precio. La camarera me dijo que los pimientos verdes en mi sopa de almejas eran suaves, no lo eran y tenían que escupir con la boca ardiente. Realmente vergonzoso cuando me trataron. En cambio, me dieron espárragos. Tu único vegetal. No se dieron cuenta de que mi vaso de agua estaba vacío y tuve que pedirlo. Bancos sin respaldo para sentarse en la taberna / bar, pero puede solicitar una silla incómoda. No es un lugar donde usted, como yo, coma muchas proteínas y verduras saludables. No me gusta salir de un restaurante donde me siento hinchado con demasiada comida, pero tampoco quiero pasar hambre. El café estaba bueno después de la comida."

"Mis colegas y yo teníamos reservas a las 12 del mediodía y nos acomodaron rápidamente. Dado que el restaurante birmano está en la parte trasera de la zona, estábamos ansiosos por vivir esta experiencia. Si bien no teníamos prisa, el restaurante sí. Se ordenaron bebidas y presionaron para tener un pedido de comida al mismo tiempo. Decidimos esperar para pedir la comida hasta que nos trajeran las bebidas. Pedimos el estofado de ternera y cabra al estilo birmano, así como el Moh Hin Ga (sopa de fideos con pescado). Si bien las salsas de los guisos de carne estaban bien, ¡no era espectacular! Las carnes guisadas definitivamente no estaban tiernas. Si te gusta la carne dura, estos platos son para ti. Además, al Moh Hin Ga le faltaba sabor y en palabras de mis colegas: "no volvería a pedirlo". Además, refrescos y té helado y reposición de cortesía. Dada la prisa y la experiencia por debajo del promedio, no volveré. Dadas sus excelentes calificaciones de Yelp, parece que hay muchos clientes a los que les gusta. Tal vez solo los asistimos en un mal día o el Chef normal no estuvo presente ese día ..."

"First time exploring the Huntington Beach food scene, and a local friend recommended Mama 's on 39. Special shout out to our server Eric who was super awesome, knowledgeable and took care of our table promptly and professionally. We ordered the KBBQ Pork Tots, the Loaded Biscuit Skillet, the Country Fried Prime Rib Eggs, and two house Waffles a-la-carte. First off, when the menu says Share Me Starters they really mean it. The portion size on the KBBQ Pork Tots are massive, 4+ people massive, we ate about half, as i wanted to try the main course but was already realatively full. The tots are savory and sweet and loaded to the brim with toppings, it 's not so much Korean BBQ as in they just mix in kbbq sauce over pulled pork but definitely still worth a taste. The Loaded Biscuit Skillet was good, i wish the biscuits weren 't so dense, but they were still soft and fresh, the gravy was a bit strange tasting, when i got a to-go box they gave us a couple cups with more gravy and the gravy we got to-go was way better than what was served, however i enjoyed the dish regardless. The Country Fried Prime Rib Eggs was delicious, the Prime Rib had a weird slippery texture to the meat, but was still very flavorful and delicious. Finally, the Waffles A-La-Carte. The waffles were a tie for first next to the tots. The waffles made me regret not getting the chicken and waffles dish. Next time. Mama 's on 39 is a great local restaurant to check out with a group of friends and/or family. My only real complaint is the portion size, i am not joking when i say the dishes are huge and not meant for just 2 people. Try it out, i am sure you 'll love it"

"I love that they 're open late but don 't love that they shifted to takeout-only during the pandemic and still are, and that they got rid of their yummy teriyaki chicken bowl which I got at least a couple times a month for lunch pre-pandemic. Still, they 're my go-to when it 's yet another late night at the office and I 'm craving something savory and not too heavy with good clean protein that 's relatively quick to order and pickup on my way home. My go tos are 2-3 simple rolls: usually yellowtail or salmon roll (both have avocado, yum! and a CA roll. If I 'm hungry enough, I 'll get all 3. Love that they give a discount for buying more than 1 roll. Perfect little meal that I can eat in the car if I 'm suuuuper starving. Not super authentic genuine Japanese sushi but sometimes that 's what I 'm after. It hits the spot for those nights. One time, I tried the crisscut fries and they were tasty! Seems pricey but it 's a really good portion size."
