"There’s a certain comfort in enjoying a meal at this restaurant. It’s a dependable spot for consistent drinks, especially for those who prefer plant-based options. For instance, I ordered an iced brown sugar shaken espresso, which is typically vegan. It’s refreshing to be able to order without having to make any adjustments! The drink itself is a delightful blend of sweetness that doesn’t completely mask the coffee flavor, which I appreciate. The subtle hint of blonde roast at the end is the perfect finishing touch to keep me energized at work. I would definitely recommend it, especially on a hot day!"

"I stopped in here with my wife for breakfast recently. It was very good. The breakfast items were all pretty standard but done well. Where this place really shines is the service and the desserts: the staff are all extremely friendly. They make you feelas though you are a friend rather than customer. Also, their dessert selections are out of this world. They have cake, muffins,cinnamon rolls, pies, cookies, the list goes on and it is all great I will definitely go here again if I am ever in the area."

"What an amazing dining experience! The warm welcome begins once you enter. The staff is pleasant and engaging. Chef Carlos and Chef Elena deliver a memorable Spanish culinary adventure reminiscent of a night on the town in Madrid. They clearly make sure that the food, service, and ambiance exceed all expectations. The tapas are authentic. The croquetas, the tortilla, the pulpo are as tasty as any in a Spanish bar. The paella valenciana is plentiful, piping hot, and filled with chicken, shrimp, mussels and bacalao. Don’t give up the socarrat without a fight. Save room for the flan. It will blow you away. Que aproveche!"

"There are not enough good things to say about Meditrina. The chef and owner, Sarah Geary, will amaze you with her culinary talents. Honestly, the first time I ate here I was blown away. This is the level of culinary prowess I would expect from a restaurant in Chicago or New York City. And here we are, the little town of Valpo, blessed with this wonderful restaurant. It's no surprise that it's usally very crowded. They added outdoor tables for the summer. With the flowers and railing, it's a great outdoor space. If you're a vegetarian, the menu here is wide open to you. If you're vegan, the staff and Sarah are very accomodating. The Vegetable Lentil soup (vegan) is a must. The Falafel Deluxe sandwich will keep you coming back. The daily specials usually include some type of pasta dish that, if not already vegan, can easily be made so. Meditrina usually also has a pizza on special. The Mediterranean Pizza is my favorite. It's a pizza with hummus, kalamata olives and I think basal and tomatoes (you have to ask to hold the feta). But if it's not on special you can ask for it and if she's not too busy, Sarah will make it for you!"

"I absolutely love firehouse, my food is ALWAYS great, but the last 3 times I?ve ordered, things were wrong (took off all veggies, received everything on the sandwich instead, forgotten soups etc. SUPER late after pick up times, I understand being busy, but after 3 times, its upsetting ?. The boys in the evening don?t seem to care at all that is when I order. I keep coming back because the food is awesome, but am considering other places now due to the fact that every single time lately I have to address an issue."
