"Let me just start off by saying the food was amazing the pork ribs fall off the bone! We did order a half rack beef ribs for our main dish that did not have any meat on them, we did tell the waitress and she brought it up to the manager which came to our table and apologized stating that place where he orders his meat had been sending him the beef ribs like that unfortunately. He sent our table a full rack of the pork ribs on the house. These ribs were so amazing. He was so professional and seemed like he really cared about our experience being a great one. I also tried the corn bread which is home made and so delicious. If I had any advice for this place it would be to maybe add a piece of the corn bread to every meal instead of having yo order it as a desert on the menu. I feel like it’s kind of overlooked because it is on the menu as a desert option. I feel like everyone needs to try it! It is sooo good I can probably eat 5 of them in a sitting. We will definitely be back the ambiance of the place feels so cozy and has a live band that Plays on the weekends. Can’t wait for our next meal here."

"We entered through the bar area, immediately greeted by friendly staff – all of whom were absolutely lovely. The bar itself is cozy, with a few tables and bar seating, and it had a nice dim ambiance that suggested it would be a great spot later in the day. The hostess seated us in a booth in the main dining area, and thankfully, there was no wait at that time. The décor was quite nostalgic, taking me back to the 90s with shades of my youth, including memories of wearing dickies and my initial belt buckle. A picture from "Mi Vida Loca" added to the wave of pleasant nostalgia. The music complemented the overall theme perfectly. Our server, Arleen, was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making our experience even better. Both my fiancé and I are pescatarians, and we were pleased to see plenty of options on the menu, including various plant-based and vegan dishes. We started with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh and had the ideal amount of kick, while the chips were light and crispy, though they could have used a bit of salt. While there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table, we still enjoyed the chips immensely. For our meal, we ordered tuna empanadas with chimichurri dipping sauce and a chili relleno plate that came with rice and beans. The three empanadas were incredibly light and flaky, filled with moist, flavorful tuna that wasn't overpoweringly fishy. They paired beautifully with the chimichurri. We polished off every bite. The relleno was perfectly cooked, featuring a thin egg coating with a juicy, succulent poblano pepper stuffed with Oaxacan cheese, all topped with a delicious tomato sauce and Mexican crema. The beans and rice were well-cooked and seasoned too. Next, we tried three mix-and-match tacos: lobster, Baja fish, and blackened swordfish. Each one was fantastic, but the lobster taco, topped with crispy fried leeks, was my favorite. Although there was an enticing drink menu, we kept it simple and opted for horchata instead, which was delightful – not overly sweet and had a delightful homemade taste. A few days later, I’m still reminiscing about how incredible the food was. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return soon. Don’t miss out on La Unica!"

"The second sampler platter featured tri-tip, pulled chicken, baby back ribs, and catfish nuggets (only four tiny pieces of catfish, one of which was cut into four even smaller pieces), along with yams, macaroni and cheese, Hoppin' John, and baked beans. We also ordered a slice of pecan and sweet potato pie for dessert. While we got butter, the absence of muffins was disappointing. To top it off, we had to ask for our drinks, which were two Shirley Temples. Usually, the food here is excellent, but today it simply did not merit the $100 we spent, including a generous tip. We’ve decided to skip returning to this location and instead make the drive to the San Marcos or Oceanside branches, where the food is consistently top-notch. At those locations, the meals come with decent portions, and they always include cornbread muffins in our takeout orders. I understand that times are tough, but it’s hard to accept serving BBQ with just butter and no cornbread muffins. As a loyal customer, I’m feeling extremely disappointed."

"Great staff attentive, quick, friendly! Food mouth watering deliciousness!! The grilled chicken sandwich the BEST I have had in a very, very long time!! Toasted perfectly, ample flavors and just as good as a 1/2 sandwich the next day! Atmos a 4 only bc it was NFL opening weekend, but only 2 feeds available! Great spot! Wonderful staff and food! Price per person: $10–20"

"We decided to try out this restaurant based on the good reviews we had heard from our neighbors. We were not disappointed. The highlight for us was definitely the tofu dish they cooked. My wife, who is vegetarian, wasn't the biggest fan for some reason. As a non-vegetarian, I can't really comment on that. The staff was very polite and attentive. When I called in our order, they took the time to confirm everything. Although we didn't dine in, the restaurant appeared to be very clean and well-maintained. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they provided individually packaged chili and soy sauce, which was not an issue for us. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a try if you're in the mood for Thai food."
