Abysmal customer service, very rude staff on the phone, hung up on me three times. Not recommended.

Excellent Jamaican food. As good as what my mother and grandmother makes. You won't regret coming here, and you can't beat the $6 lunch special (jerk,stew, or curry) chicken. Ver carta

I really wish I didn't have the rate this restaurant…This piece of whole in the wall isn't worth eating at…there's safety concerns as far as them not utilizing ppe/food safety, don't bother ordering because the same nasty lady with attitude isn't going to contact you if you're order isn't right she is going to give you what she wants even though you're paying for what you ordered. There's sanitary concerns....someone needs to close this down, and stop paying under tables…

I ALMOST COULDNT BREATH AFTER EATING SOME OF THE RICE AND IT WAS THE SPICIEST SAUCE I HAVE EVER HAD!! I ordered a brown stew chicken with rice and peas and how the hell a sauce is that spicy to the point of throat closing up and almost chocked! Why? Because Iam allergic to spicy foods due to my stomach lining!! I cannot eat anything hard spice. My boyfriend had to help me Breath and he even tasted and he couldn’t believe it! Iam taking this to court and far! This is unexcaptable!!!!!

This spot was (up until a few months ago) People’s Choice. And yes, THEY were at time rude and obnoxious but, the food was good! So, I tolerated them. I'm a Harlem resident (25yrs).. so I'm not new. I always pass this place but decided to give it a try. Sent my wife in after reading reviews of rudeness etc lol. My wife came out smiling so that was a good thing. Now onto the food… Although it a small hood spot, the food was great! I visited this location today for the first time. The woman who worked behind the counter with the short hair was extremely rude and unprofessional. She did not take a moment to listen to the order or even find out whose food went to whom. At one point, she even pulled down her mask and rubbed her nose while packaging the orders. Today will be my last time eating from this place. I am a regular customer and everytime i go to king barka i am greeted with a nasty attitude from the cashier no matter how i try to be polite and nice to her. It's like I'm begging her something when i am paying customer.. If the food is not ready dont sell it to the customer.
