"visit denali and stay in the denali prinzessin wildnis lodge (different review). the king laughs restaurant was good. ask for a table with a view! started with the heathberry mojito. the first had much too much ice and not enough to drink. the second, I asked for less ice and it was much better. needed more blueberries. I had the green salad that was good, but a little sweet. too many craisins and the lingonberry dressing was sweet. but it was good. my daughter had the Caesar salad, the dressing was very licking (what we like). had the crab, the garnel and the fish crashed it well, but had large pieces of seafood. I think it would have been better mixed a little more so that the aromen had a chance to melt. I had the skalopp and goat cheese “Caprese” (see photo). the skalopps were very good, but I couldn't call it a kaprese. my daughter got the salmon hunt that was good. the service was good. a little expensive."

This is a lovely restaurant for visitors to Denali National Park. The special here is king salmon, and it was delicious!

This was the worst dining experience I've ever had. The meal was terrible, and the service was even worse, made worse by the unprofessional behavior of the staff.

Our food was excellent tonight! Our server, Andrew, was attentive, and we especially enjoyed Kenny, who kept our water glasses filled, and our table cleared as we finished each course. Ver carta

I visited this restaurant after receiving a recommendation from someone at McKinley Lodge. They managed to accommodate our party of eight at one table, which was fantastic. The service was top-notch, and the food—ranging from salmon and halibut to steaks and daily specials—was absolutely delicious.

King Salmon was amazing! We ate here for our last meal in Denali and boy, did we pick a winner!!! We had the king salmon which was incredible . We also ordered the halibut in a wine butter sauce over mashed potatoes! We started with appetizers of coconut halibut and seared scallops with fried goat cheese; and ended with the cheesecake! WONDERFUL

eat and the worst on the whole trip. king crab was a jr. underoccupied linguine, server shared daily special, we said we share the 2 netzen (the reservations were so big, it has sünden). these portions were so tiny that they made a meal. $150 for crab legs that I can buy in nj food business was the biggest disappointment. real kings crawl in skagway. I'm sorry we didn't eat them there. Ver carta

Ate at this place because it was at the hotel I was staying at. Had high hopes to have some fresh Alaskan King Salmon in a place that boast this name. I eat salmon almost weekly so I know good salmon. This King Salmon was over cooked, over salted and overly fishy. The $44 entree also came with mushy asparagus you can’t cut with a knife and the saltiest mashed potatoes I’ve ever tasted. I couldn’t eat it. The food is basically overpriced banquet food made for the masses but under the guise of a nice restaurant. Do not recommend.

We recently traveled to Alaska and stayed at the Denali Princess Lodge, where we dined at the King Salmon restaurant. Upon entering, we were welcomed by a warm, rustic atmosphere featuring a striking glass salmon chandelier. The server was friendly and attentive, offering excellent menu recommendations. We ordered the King Salmon with mushrooms and risotto, the citrus grilled salmon with Yukon potatoes, and the Princess Brick Chicken with a berry compote. Each dish was outstanding. Overall, dining at this restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip.

"There are not a lot of dinner options around the Denali Park entrance area. I 'm also told that outside the May-September high season window, there are practically none. Prey is located within the Denali Cabins complex and was our captive restaurant, considering that we didn 't have a car and that shuttle option to Glitter Gulch provided limited choices. Gayle and I had dinner here twice and enjoyed the experience both times. The place opens at 5 PM and fills up quickly. The trick is to get in there, and if there 's an open table (regardless of bused status), grab it. The first night was more of a challenge getting a table and overall service (because of short staffing), with our later return from our Denali bus tour being easier on all counts. Gayle gave high marks to the guy who made her gin martini the first night and the woman the 2nd night who was from Madrid NM and probably waited on us a few years before in her job at the Mineshaft Tavern and Cantina. When you 're talking about seasonal work, you never know who you 're going to meet and where they 're from. When you 're out on a long day (off the Train on the first and the backcountry bus on the second), a nice table to relax and your favorite adult beverage almost automatically makes the food taste better and the wait bearable. So 4 stars it is, even though a true Alaska fisherman probably would not have ordered any fish dish like the Alaska Salmon BLT and Halibut fish and chips we ordered and enjoyed on had on evening #2. Evening #1 was tasty too, with Gayle going for the Beast Burger (blend of bison, beef, elk, and wild boar), and me settling for a nice bowl of chili. With a small isolated restaurant with good demand, please be of good cheer when they run out of a menu item. For example on Evening #2, practically the entire Appetizer section was out (e.g., Philly Egg Rolls, Chicken Wings, and Kung Pau Brussel Sprouts). There was plenty else to choose from, but it did throw our salads and appetizers dinner strategy out the window."

"The restaurant opens at 5 PM and fills up quickly, so the key is to get there early. If you see an open table, no matter how messy it may seem, grab it! Our first night was a bit challenging due to the high demand and short staffing, but our second visit, after a later return from our Denali bus tour, was much smoother. Gayle particularly praised the bartender who made her gin martini the first night, as well as a waitress on the second night who was from Madrid, NM. It was amusing to think we might have encountered her at the Mineshaft Tavern and Cantina a few years back. In seasonal work, you never know who you might meet or where they hail from. After a long day of exploring—arriving by train the first day and by bus the second—a comfortable table to relax at, along with your favorite drink, can really enhance your dining experience and make waiting more tolerable. So, I’m giving Prey 4 stars, even though a true Alaskan fisherman might not have chosen the fish dishes like the Alaska Salmon BLT or the Halibut fish and chips that we enjoyed on our second evening. On the first night, I opted for a delicious bowl of chili while Gayle tried the Beast Burger, a blend of bison, beef, elk, and wild boar. In a small, popular restaurant, it’s important to stay cheerful when they run out of menu items. For instance, on our second evening, almost the entire appetizer section was out, including Philly Egg Rolls, Chicken Wings, and Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts. Though there were still plenty of options to choose from, it did disrupt our plan of starting with salads and appetizers."

"Truly amazing food. Right now they are still doing take-out only due to that irritating virus that shall not be named. We had a minute drive back to our hotel, which was actually minutes because I am afraid of driving in the dark with moose potentially lurking about and end up moving at grandma pace. I would never have imagined hot gourmet food could be packed well enough to travel that distance- but they did it! It was pretty much the same quality you would get if you were eating there in person- including both temperature and food presentation. The fancy NYC chefs need a lesson or two from this place. And the food itself was phenomenal. We had the crab cakes which I think are the best I have ever had. The black cod was also to die for. And then their duck and other seafood items were also great. The chef here is extremely talented with both food technique and flavor combinations. We also got a few desserts from their pastry case and those were also amazing. You may end up waiting a little for your take-out order, but I think that is because they are making do with a small staff for a large number of orders and they are not willing to sacrifice on food quality at all- which is great. Trust me when I say it is worth the wait. Of the many nice places I have eaten at all around the world, this one goes right to the top of the list, along with places like Daniel (NYC- which I also love). Which once again supports what I tell people when they ask me what my favorite travel location has been- and I always say both Alaska and France."
