"Me and my family of three are visiting St. Louis, and upon our arrival at the restaurant, the hostess informed us of a 90-minute wait and assured us they would text when the table was ready. We decided to explore Union Station, just a short 5-minute walk away. Surprisingly, only 15 minutes later, we received a text indicating our table was ready. Since we were nearby, I confirmed the text and had my sister drop me off at the door to check in.Upon reaching the hostess to check in, she mentioned that one member of our party was missing to be seated , which was never communicated to us initially or in the text message. I explained that she was parking. The hostess mentioned a 5-minute grace period but failed to inform me that exceeding this time would require us to reschedule our reservation for another 90 minutes. When my sister arrived just 3 minutes later, she was informed that we needed to reschedule, causing unnecessary confusion and inconvenience. This experience left us feeling undervalued as customers. It seemed petty and inconsiderate to reset the timer after initially indicating a longer wait time. As someone who appreciates efficient time management, this situation was disappointing."

The atmosphere and staff are fantastic, but the wait for food is really long—over an hour!

This place is a delightful spot for coffee and food! It features a swing bar in addition to ample regular seating. The tasting flight was definitely worth it, and the food was delightful. It's become one of my favorite discoveries in St. Louis! Ver carta

The food was delicious! The eggs were cooked to perfection. I truly enjoyed the latte flight; each one had its own unique flavor, and you could really appreciate the differences between them. Our server was delightful, and the atmosphere was great. Although it was a spacious venue, it still felt very cozy!

It’s a cool vibe in there! Took my friend there for galantines. I wish I had enjoyed my food and drink more, the match green tea wasn’t my fav., for brunch I ordered the breakfast scramble which was very good! My friends french toast liked good. The English muffins they gave me though, tasted like fish/shrimp, I left those on the plate bc it grossed me out. Ver carta

Nice place. Very open atmosphere. Food selection seems great. I had the chicken and waffles. Not my fave. The waffles were too sweet for me. However, our waiter was nice. The hostess was very nice upon entering the restaurant and the food came out quickly. I would give this location another chance and will probably select another item. The restaurant is located in a nice area and there is parking located directly across the street. My friends and I attended during brunch time.

Really cute brunch spot and had interesting choices of coffee's to choose from, which seemed to be the main appeal. I really liked the ambience and the different options of coffee, and that is what made my experience enjoyable. I will say we waited for over an hour to be sat and the portion sizes for breakfast could have been bigger, because I didn't really leave full. Overall, I would come back and sit at the swinging bar seats next time and to try the split coffees which I did not get to try on this visit.

"My boyfriend and I came to this place during our visit to St. Louis after reading rave reviews about it online. We went in well-dressed and excited with high expectations, but unfortunately were left feeling extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. Dining at the restaurant definitely taught us a lot about the ozark history. I have a lot of respect for the time and enthusiasm the owner put into researching the history, arranging youtube videos, and conveying this information to the guests. His concerns about the environment and zero-waste efforts are also very laudable. His direct interactions with all of the guests and attempts to answer questions were refreshing. The food, however, was very lacking and mediocre. The concept of watching your food being made is fun and exciting. Understandably, they can’t make everything and plenty is prepared in advance. Except they really didn’t seem to make much of anything at all. A few grilled mushrooms here, and a delicate but also pompous plating there and that’s it. I know there’s probably a kitchen in the back and they work throughout the day as most kitchens do, but this gaudy element of pseudo showmanship missed a serious mark. Again, that’s fine. It’s an aesthetic and part of the bulrush experience. What annoys me is the price tag and the faint whiff of haughtiness that comes with it. The kitchen hands also looked apathetic, disinterested, and lacked focus. They didn’t look like professional chefs, just professional food assemblers. I did not trust that they knew to prepare food properly and that was evident in what was eventually served. The food was either too plain, too sour, too salty, or overall a very big disappointment. The steak had so many big chunks of fat in it that I was only able to eat about half of it. The poissants were cute but definitely not something I would pay that much money for, especially given that there were only about two small pieces of it on our plates. The beets, brussel sprouts, asparagus, fried onions that we were served, I can find and reproduce in my own kitchen. For the amount of money we paid, I expected a lot more flavor, unique ingredients, and creativity. I asked the owner why Ozark and he admitted it was an entrepreneurial strategy to stand out. He loved to repeat to our audience that night that “no one else” is doing it! Well when you taste the food you can kinda see why? I can’t deny though that the chefs know how to make something look appetizing in pictures. That’s what initially attracted us to the restaurant. The pretty platings and colorfully spectacular arrangements were what got us in the door. The experience has been worth it in the sense that for all that we paid for, we got a good lesson to not eat with our eyes, and a funny story to tell our friends back at home."
