"The first night of our stay In Sainte Maxime found us in the marina area with a load of Harley riding bikers. This created a great atmosphere and gave the area a real buzz. We decided upon Le Wafou as a place to grab some dinner even though it was very busy the manager found us a great table to watch the bikers ride by from.As is usual with us Brits abroad we have to hope that the people serving us speak English. This was no issue and Pierre our waiter was great and we enjoyed a joke or two with him throughout the evening. I decided to go for the Cheeseburger(mainly because it's the only thing I could understand on the menu). It seemed a little pricey at just under €20 but when it arrived I have to say it was fantastic and while I feel still a little overpriced I didn't think it was extortionately so. Dessert was light and very tasty as I opted for the Strawberry Tart. In summary I would go back here without a second thought but I would go armed with a French translator. Recommended"

This is an excellent bar right on the sea front in St Maxime. The service is great, the staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable.

It's situated on the corner of a busy square in Ste Maxime, and priced accordingly. The service is efficient but somewhat sterile. The coffee is perfect. Order the creme.

Great food and atmosphere the waiter was very helpful when we were trying to choose our food. All speak very good English as well which helped when we were struggling. Highly recommended. Ver carta

I have eaten here a lot of times earlier and the food is very good. Unfortunately is the beers too expensive so I don't recommend a visit if the only purpose is to drink (not eat) and have a relaxed time.

The waiters speak English and are very friendly. When we were brought a dish that we hadn't ordered we got an apology but that was about it. The dish was fine. Not bad at all, but not great either. Perfect spot for a quick bite.

First row café on Main Street through Sainte Maxime. Waiter was responding in English, even if we spoke French, but he was friendly. He also provided honest input on the choice of mussels off season (don't). The pancakes are pricy, but you probably pay for location, and the pancakes were not bad. The same with the coffee.

We always visit Le Wafou during our summer holiday on the French Riviera, since we enjoy the relaxed, easy atmosphere of this modern and elegantly furnished brasserie in the centre of Ste.-Maxime during the pleasant last evenings of June, when the village is lively, but not too crowded with tourists. On every visit we invariably find a friendly and helpful staff to meet us, as well as tasteful and abundant dishes accompanied by the typical French "garniture" of either rice and ratatouille or fries. Finally, a place to visit to enjoy the summer atmosphere of the French Riviera, not too far from the exclusiveness of St.-Tropez.

"we had the 5 course menu, 1 normal, 1 vegetarian. the vegetarian was good but not up to the standard we experienced in similar establishments and not on the level of the non-vegetarian. waiters also did not mention it. it was just a small part on the bottom of the menu. we felt that's also about the appreciation it got from the chef. in our opinion, if u offer a vegetarian menu, it must be on an equal level as the rest of the menu. it wasn't (seems as if les légumes alone just are not much of an inspiration to the chef which clearly reflected in the courses). it wasn't bad but from a 3 star restaurant I expect fireworks even without meat; especially if the theme is provénce. the normal 5 course menu was good but the overuse of grapefruit started to annoy me after the second time 4 or so slices were used on my dish as it was way too sour, clearly overshadowing the other flavors and the note of sour even persisted through the coursesafter the palette refreshener which also contained some lemon notes came the dessert (kind of lemon tart) which was so sour that we both could not finish it. it was like a punch in the face after such perfectly and tastefully balanced 4 previous courses that explored familiar and unfamiliar flavor profiles and combinations (on a deserved 3 star level in my opinion - even though I missed obvious associations to la provénce). the rest of the desserts (which seemed to make up of 30%+ of the overall food volume; no idea why such an emphasis on sweet/sour for just a 5 course meal) couldn't help and were clearly on a much lower level as the rest of the food which was very disappointing to us. also, to be honest, lemon notes belong more to Italy than to the provence (google oops I dropped the lemon tart). all in all a mixed experience which started strong and gradually worsened. A bite into a lemon or grapefruit would have given me a purer taste of la provence if i wanted to explore the perfect sour note. service was excellent, excited and friendly. wine pairing good."
