"Took friends, new to the area, to introduce them to what used to be one our favorite stops in San Juan Capistrano. The place is so adorable and such a nice setting, but our food this evening was way below the standard normally experienced at Sun Dried Tomato. We ordered the Special which one would assume all chefs had been fully vetted and trained on the procedure. We had the Grilled Halibut I put that in quotes because it was anything BUT!! First of all it was griddled not grilled as the menu declared, we saw a totally seared and tough exterior only to be outdone by the way over cooked fish. It was tough, flavorless and and a huge embarrassment for us as we introduced a new California resident to your restaurant. While our very nice and accommodating server did try to have them cook up a new piece of fish for us, it came out seared again to toughness but completely raw on the inside rendering it uneatable. If I were the GM at this restaurant, I would dismiss that cook immediately. Our server did the right thing and removed it from the bill, we had 2 servings, and we tipped him as if the bill was full, it remains one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Just to note, every time we have been to this restaurant, we have had the best meals, might be a while before we give another go."

"Husband and I were looking for an Italian place for dinner we didn't want to go to our usual. I came across Ciao Pasta on Yelp and thought we would give it a try. It's in San Juan Capistrano which is always nice to walk before or after dinner. I called and made reservations for 5:15pm , we arrived about 20 minutes early but thank god we did as we couldn't find the place. It's not hard to find it we just thought it was on the opposite side of town. We managed to make it right on time and we were seated right away. It was such a nice afternoon that we decided to sit outside. It's a beautiful restaurant with plenty of seating inside and outside. We started off with ordering drinks and an appetizer. We ordered the carpaccio to start with. They also brought us some delicious and soft focaccia bread with some olive oil and crushed olives( I believe) . When I saw the carpaccio it just looked so beautiful and delicious and it was also delicious and so fresh tasting. The focaccia bread was also very good I decided to top my bread with some of the carpaccio, it was amazing. For dinner my husband ordered the beef Bolognese and I ordered the crudo pizza. The pizza had some prosciutto and Parmesan cheese and topped with some arugula. The pizza is a great size to share . The crust on the pizza was absolutely amazing.My husband absolutely loved the pizza crust he said it took him back to his childhood. It tasted like freshly made flour tortillas with butter on it. It was so good!!! He also enjoyed his pasta dish. And of course we had to get some dessert and we went with the ricotta cheesecake with raspberry sauce , it was delicious and not to sweet. This restaurant also has great service. The waiters and servers were on top of it. We will definitely be back to try some more of their dishes. Thank you for such a great dinner!"

"Outstanding! Held a rehearsal dinner for 30 in the banquet room. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. It has a large balcony with heaters. The banquet room has its own bar with bar tender, kitchen and bathroom. Suzy, the owner, was attending to us from set up to closing. She is a superb planner, advisor and host. We had appetizers, wine, beer and buffet dinner. Everything was excellent: food, setting and service. They offered a fantastic beer and wine selection. We enjoyed delicious veggie empanadas, bruschetta bites, pigs in a blanket, Caesar salad, butternut squash soup, chicken piccata, salmon, pasta primavera, broccolini, and key lime bites: every one excellent. They also have a great sound system used my Spotify playlist. I give my highest recommendation to hold your party here."

"It was our first time at O’Neals, we had a very good experience. Our waiter was very attentive, our drinks were good and our delicious food what’s nice and hot. Great Reuben sandwich and also the chicken sandwich with the mushroom soup and not to mention the beautiful view at sunset. We will be back!!!"

My personal favorite is the pescado de ajo, or garlic fish. It's simply amazing. Garlic plays a starring role in this dish, as the perfectly cooked, moist fish is generously coated with it. If you’re not a fan of garlic, you might find it a bit overwhelming, but as someone who adores garlic, I absolutely love this meal. The fish is tender and juicy, while the toasted garlic adds a rich, mellow flavor. This richness is beautifully balanced by fresh slices of cucumber, tomato, and avocado on the side. The presentation is lovely too, served on a charming fish-shaped plate. Salsa is another key indicator of a good Mexican restaurant, and Ricardo’s does not disappoint. It's flavorful with a nice kick, not just heat for the sake of it. It’s easy to believe that this recipe has been cherished and passed down through generations. Lastly, I appreciate that you might even spot the real Ricardo while you're there! He’s the cheerful, silver-haired gentleman you’ll see taking orders or delivering drinks. I look forward to enjoying meals at his restaurant for years to come."
