"This restaurant is truly a warm and cozy experience. I did make reservations and would recommend them because it was very busy! The table was small and you sit close to people but I think that sometimes is a really nice vibe. I think the lighting andpictures on the wall made the place feel very homey yet classy. The french I sprinted menu is good for people who don?t knowwhat they want. I tried the steak, mashed potatoes, french onion soup, escargots, chicken, and white wine. All of which was soyummy and truly worth the price. The french onion soup is a must ! I also started the night with an espresso martini and it wasstrong and made perfect. I think this is a great spot to get dressed up and even get drinks- there is a bar. Also a great choicefor a birthday dinner which is what I was there for)"

Great drinks and dishes. Very crowded and can?t even hear myself talking but you might bump into famous people which is why people seem to squeeze themselves having drinks. (V casual) Wine selection is reasonably priced.

This delightful little French restaurant is situated on the border of the Lower East Side and Chinatown. The food was truly outstanding, and the service was top-notch! The waitstaff was attentive and always willing to assist.

The restaurant is quite busy, and the music gradually gets louder as the evening progresses. The crowd is appealing, creating a lively atmosphere with plenty of energy. It's definitely a trending spot. However, the food is just average.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy downtown restaurant! The food was wonderfully simple and excellent. We had the Wild Salmon and Scallops, and they were incredible. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants at the moment! Ver carta

The drinks and dishes are excellent! It's quite busy, so it can be difficult to hear yourself talk, but you might catch a glimpse of some celebrity patrons, which likely explains why people are willing to squeeze in for a drink. The wine selection is also affordably priced. (The atmosphere is very laid-back!)

What a delightful and genuine restaurant! I truly enjoyed the food, although I believe there are likely even better options than what I selected, like the eggs Benedict with merguez sausages. The restaurant has a fascinating history, and it's evident that it holds a special place in the hearts of many, as reflected in the photos displayed on the walls.

I recommend making a reservation, as we found the restaurant fully booked when we tried to walk in. While there is some bar seating available, we were lucky to score a table that became available due to a no-show reservation. All in all, if you're craving a French bistro-style meal, Lucien is an excellent option. Plus, it's a great spot if you're looking to see and be seen! Ver carta

This restaurant boasts a genuinely warm and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend making a reservation, as it can get quite busy! The tables are small, and the seating is close together, but I believe this adds to the charming ambiance. The lighting and wall art create a cozy yet elegant environment. The French-inspired menu is perfect for those who might be indecisive about their choices. I sampled the steak, mashed potatoes, French onion soup, escargots, chicken, and white wine, and every dish was delightful.

Loud that it's hard to hear yourself think. So busy that you're on top of yourself and the table next to you. They take reservations but there's not a guarantee of being seated on time. The entrees and drinks are about what you expect for a restaurant and taste wise in manhattan A culturally historical hip place with a young crowd but it feels very overrated andjust ok compared to all the other options in the east village LES for the price and hassle I found it incredibly wild howpacked it is that they have tables on the street next to the bus station paying the same prices Try it if you're curious.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
