"We had trouble getting the check, and a server appeared to be ignoring us, likely because I had two young children with me. My 3-year-old got restless and wandered just a few feet to a fountain and a pot. He leaned over the pot, which was nearly his size, lost his balance, and fell, causing the pot to crash to the ground. I must commend how the staff handled the incident; they even asked for my name and phone number to check on my son, which I appreciated and considered sending a positive note about. However, before I even returned home, I received a message from the owner insisting that I should pay for the broken pot. She accused me of not being able to control my child and told me to never bring my children back to the restaurant. It’s disappointing to be treated this way when the place is supposedly "family-friendly." I will not be returning. I strongly advise against dining here if you have children!"

This restaurant offers excellent homestyle Mexican cuisine. It's a fantastic choice for anyone wanting to escape the usual chain restaurants like El Torito or Baja Fresh.

Our very favorite Mexican restraunt – well worth the wait, which you will have unless you call and make reservations. The waitresses are very friendly and good – Love the “busboys”. Lupe’s has the best homemade chips and salsa. Tacos are like the Red Onion – best refried beans – Have to eat here at least once a week or we go through “Lupe Withdrawl” LOVE THIS PLACE…

It is misleading to still refer to it as Lupe’s. I used to enjoy it, but now it's just terrible. Prices have dramatically increased; the 1, 2, and 3-item combos now cost $10, $15, and $18. For $18, you get three subpar tacos along with rice and beans. The cheese tastes like it was grated months ago in Nebraska and transported in poor condition. It has a noticeable freezer burn on it. The rice is so unappetizing that I can only imagine Lupe is turning in her grave.
