"This place is a small joint, but I think it's just perfect! Come spring, summer, and fall I can see this place being super busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Menu isn't too big, but this is a must stop! I had the pargo con crema de coco, which is Dominican style snapper fillet in coconut cream. And all I have to say is wow! I was able to make two meals out of this. The flavor was there and just popped. You can def taste the coconut. The fish was not dry. I had a bite of the El Cubano as well and it was good as well. I highly recommend coming here. The staff is so nice. The food came out at a reasonable time!"

"Our dinner here was incredibly disappointing. Our table for six was clearly meant for only four, as my seat was half on the tile next to the window and not even fully on the carpet. The service was very slow, it took 30min just to get our initial drink orders in, another 20 for appetizers, and a full hour after we sat down to put our main order in and at least get some bread on the table. My husband ordered a manhattan and just got a glass of whiskey on ice, and had to flag someone down after 10 minutes to get it corrected because there was no follow-up from our server. The calamari was rubbery to the point of being difficult to chew. I ordered a medium rare filet and received medium well. We split the check 3 ways, one for each couple, and they were all incorrect with either drinks or appetizers put on another 's bill. This was not at all the fine dining experience we expected, and it certainly wasn 't worth the price tag. EDIT 24JUN2024: I tried emailing the address provided in the response below and received a 550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied. bounce-back."

"Overall a very nice experience; seated promptly with a reservation. Our server was thorough, helpful, and attentive. What struck me was how good everything smelled upon walking in. It made choosing an entree difficult but opted for the New York Strip while my wife chose the Buffalo Shrimp. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp were plump and flavorful. Our sides were excellent. The dining room, though mostly full, wasn’t too loud though I could see it being a bit noisy if you were looking for a quiet place to dine. I would dine here again and would be happy to explore the menu"

"Jan 2022: I've been going here since 2008 but tonight might be my last for a very long time. The value quotient just isn't there, a family of four, a bottle of wine, 3 entrees, several appetizers, and one dessert and we're over $400 with tip. My entrée the cassoulet was very dry and barely edible. The gnocchi was also just ok. Everything else was outstanding, the pommes frites, shrimp cocktail, onion soups, tiny tuna tartar tacos, and the mozza ball soup. The service was A and she tried to make up for the experience. Also Meritage used to have a more extensive wine list but now every other page features a map and no listing of wines. Even worse, found out tonight they don't do a corkage fee if you want to bring your own bottle. Their wines are waaaaay marked up too. They had a Ridge blend I know well (Lytton Springs) that is under $50 retail and they price it at $120.For me I think I'll spend my dollars at the Lexington, Moscow on the Hill, or WA Frost going forward. I feel bad because I have always loved Meritage."
