Michael John's French American Steakhouse

Just a wonderful dinner. I ordered oinion rings, they were perfect, I never had escargot before, super delicious. Blackened shrimp was OK. Brea with honey was extremely excellent. I had filet mignon it was perfectly done medium rare, and gorgeous cut of meat. Wasn't as fond of spinach as Ruth's Chris, but overall the meal was really excellent.

This was our first visit to Michael Johns and we enjoyed our experience. Our server was friendly in a professional manner and our meal was very nice. The cold food was served cold and the warm food was served warm. Our fillets were cooked perfectly and the only thing that was a slight bit disappointing was the upgrade to the ravioli. It was slightly dry but did have good flavor. We will definately be back.

The restaurant has a peaceful atmosphere with very friendly and attentive service. The blackened jumbo shrimp appetizer was excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious Brussel sprouts I subbed for with my marsala dish. It was an overall excellent experience, and I will definitely have to return to try their desserts as we were too full this time. Keep in mind that this is a fine dining establishment, so expect higher prices. Ver carta

The escargot lacked flavor and the expected garlicky taste, instead being served in a cream sauce with no garlic. The crab cakes were only average, and I had to ask for salt for my baked cod dinner as there seemed to be no seasoning used. The beef medallions with sweet sauce were tender but lacked much flavor beyond the sweetness of the sauce. Overall, the $100 spent on the dinner, without any drinks, was extremely disappointing in terms of taste and quality.

However, there were a couple of issues that stood out to me. When we were seated, we requested a booth but were told it was reserved for a later party, even though there were other available tables. Additionally, I asked to change a sauce on one of our appetizers and was charged a $2 fee for it, which seemed unnecessary. Despite these minor setbacks, the overall experience was good and my date made the night even better. I would give her a 5-star rating, just like a McDonald's happy meal.

Fine dining? No! The ambiance was nice, the service was excellent and the food was tasty but not well presented. The mixed vegetables served with the entrees appeared like a pile of mush, which they were. While the vegetables themselves do not offset the positives mentioned above, all of the food is overpriced. That, coupled with men seated with baseball caps (when will they learn and/or ?fine dining? restaurants require them to be removed? , means that I won?t return and cannot recommend this establishment. Chose this place for an anniversary dinner since the menu looked great and definitely made the right choice. The food, drinks, and service were all great! The drinks were strong but still tasty. The appetizers made it hard to leave room for dinner. And the dinner made us want to try and find room for more bites. By the end, we took a lot to go which they boxed for us. Best of all, THEY LABELED THE BOXES!!! The atmosphere was nice as the seating isn 't all in one big room that can get loud during a rush. The beef tips were incredibly tender and delicious, and my date's meal was great as well. While we waited for our table, we were provided with a lovely espresso cup-sized sip of soup. Reservations are highly recommended as we had to wait 30-40 minutes for a table at the bar. The only issue I encountered was when the person who delivered my food insisted that the onion ring was made with a cornstarch-based tempura batter, despite my wheat allergy which our waiter was aware of. BEAUTUFUL place. Love the cherry wood furniture and color scheme. Very Italian decor with blues Brothers and gangstas. Would be nice with soft Italian or classic music in background. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Had a drink at bar after they suggested as we were early for our reservation.
