"Visit date: 6/26/2022 Pros: Our server was extremely friendly and our wait time for a table was only 10 minutes. Hence the 2 stars and the only pros of our experience. Cons: We ordered at approximately 5:30pm and did not receive our food until approximately 6:50pm. We ordered the crab cake dinner and chicken for our entrees. Over an hour wait for these entrees is ridiculous and we were not happy at all. Once Food finally arrived, it was warm, not hot off the grill. Hubbys"

"I never actually ate here, but let me tell you, that was probably for the best. My experience with Kill Devil Grill started with me trying to order food online. Silly me, I thought that would be a straightforward process. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. After fighting with their broken online system, I decided to give them a call. You know, like people used to do in the dark ages before the internet. I was on hold for a while, but hey, I figured they were busy whipping up some delicious food. How naive of me. When I finally got through to the host, I explained my situation, expecting at least a smidge of empathy or, I don’t know, a willingness to help. Instead, I was hit with a line that’s going to be etched in my memory forever: The kitchen said no. This was after they asked, how many things are you going to order? Really? No. Just... no. No explanation, no apology, no attempt to even pretend like they cared. Apparently, asking to place an order over the phone was too much for them to handle. I mean, how dare I want to give them money in exchange for food? The nerve! Look, I’ve dealt with bad service before, but this was a whole new level of ridiculous. The fact that they couldn’t even be bothered to take an order says everything you need to know about this place. Customer service? What’s that? The people running this joint clearly have no clue. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t actually get to try their food. If their service is this bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. Maybe the kitchen didn’t say no —maybe it was trying to warn me. In any case, I’ve taken the hint. I won’t be bothering Kill Devil Grill with my pesky orders again. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place."

"First time dining at the Red Drum Tap House. Not very busy as our party of 8 arrived but became busier as the evening progressed. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Our table had positives and negatives with our meals. An ordered medium raretuna was medium well and vegetables were very undercooked for each meal but blackened salmon over the spinach salad wasdelicious. The bathroom was very dirty and appeared to not have been wiped down for a while along with lots of dust on the blackpainted areas. Upon asking for our checks for the 4 couples, we were informed the restaurant can only take 2-3 credit cards pertable. Come on, this is 2022 and I?m sure the waitress had the ability to provide separate checks. I?m sure tips are frequentlydiscounted by this ?rule? as we now had to split the bill evenly amongst 3 cards while forcing one couple to use cash."

"I want to begin by noting that, in the current climate of high COVID-related unemployment, it's best to avoid dining out if you're not willing to be patient. With that being said, the wait time at this restaurant is quite lengthy. However, at any reputable restaurant these days, a wait should be expected. Despite the wait, I can confidently say that the wait here is worth it. This is one of the best Thai/Chinese restaurants I have been to. While we acknowledge and understand the challenges of wait times and service, the staff still managed to provide excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered."

"Food Dudes Kitchen is hands down my favorite lunch spot in OBX! It’s a hidden gem located in a strip mall near the beach—easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, but absolutely worth finding. The menu offers a refreshing break from the usual fried and bar food, with fresh ingredients and tons of flavor. The interior is small, but service is quick, and they do offer take-out. Just a heads up—if the kitchen is busy, you may need to place your order in person as the phone lines are often tied up. I’ve visited multiple times on every trip, always for lunch, and the food never disappoints. The blackened salmon wrap is a standout—perfectly balanced with vinaigrette and feta cheese. Plus, the side of fresh tortilla chips and pico is a nice touch. The jerk chicken wrap is another favorite, with a good kick from the mango salsa that complements the chicken perfectly. The meals are filling but not heavy, leaving you satisfied without feeling weighed down. Though I haven’t tried dinner entrees, they are available. It’s a great spot for families too, with a fun kids’ menu called “Little Dudes” and beer for the adults at the bar. Overall, a must-visit spot for fresh, flavorful food in OBX!"
