"Kumho, I am so sorry I have to do this. I’ve been going here for 5 years and as of the last 2-3 months my family has gotten food poisoning twice after eating here. Last time I thought it may have been somewhere or something. But the facts are that just last night and this morning my wife is sick to her stomach after eating here….same for me two months ago after eating here. Something has definitely changed at this restaurant and they are just not on top of food safety standards or quality like they once were. Considering we tip phenomenal to the chef and the staff …..something has to be done. Whether you have 8 people at a table or 2 the food needs to be safe without exception. I simply cannot bring my family here anymore and would appreciate a refund."

"The Lakehouse Est. 2006 Layout/atmosphere *Located right on the marina where the Watchogue Penataquit Creeks meet; to left of waiter stand tables, to the right more tables and few booths then leads out to an enclosed patio deck with a bar and tables; oil paintings, nautical theme color palette; valet parking Service *Attentive Food/drink *Bread Basket (cultured butter) four different types (fennel version, everything seasoning version, pretzel bun, and raisin version) all good except for the fennel type (too much of a licorice taste) *Creamy Tomato Bisque (Mascarpone, Truffled Gruyère Grilled Cheese) the bisque itself was fantastic (living up to its billing) and so was the grilled cheese *Organic Crispy Pressed Lemon Rosemary Chicken (Parmesan Polenta, Braised Fennel, Baby Artichokes, Grilled Florentino Cauliflower) the chicken itself had good flavor; liked the polenta and cauliflower; thought the sauce was a bit salty and the artichokes were not needed *Warm Blueberry Crumble (Brown Sugar Oat Crumb, Vanilla Bean Gelato) good; heavy on the blueberries"

"We were seated right away. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was low light and cozy. It was very noisy, especially since we were seated closer to the hibachi area. Although the hibachi seating is a great attraction, I wish they had a wall or sound barrier to minimize loud sound. The cook/performer was very loud!! That being said, we overlooked that and proceeded to view our menus. The lighting was so low that we literally took out our phones and used our flashlights. I ordered a gin and tonic with a twist of lime. What I received was gin and club soda with a twist of lemon. I drank it anyway. The american dream role and the land and sea roll were delicious!! My sister ordered the takumi roll, which was also delicious I wish I had ordered it myself! !! Our friend ordered the spicy crabmeat encrusted filet mignon. She was disappointed as the flavor was bland and the filet was okay. Overall I would recommend this place and we would return."

"My husband and I have been coming here since it opened over 6 years ago, it was one of my favorites as I love the Porcini Mushroom sauce with Filet Mignon and my husband loved the skirt steak. $27 for me $47 for him. I guess not so bad except it used to come in a pasta bowl with slices of meat and now mine comes in a salad bowl with the meat cut into small tiny pieces and mixed into the pasta so you are unaware that you only received 2.5 slices of filet and my husbands steak was so small, a small scoop of mashed potatoes completely covered in the onion string "garnish "of which he dusted off. Needless to say he went home and had a sandwich. 8 inches long by 2 inches to 1 inch at best at the tail less than 1/2 inch thick. The best part!!!! The runner brings our meals and I don 't eat grated cheese. Ever!!!! But my dish is covered in it. I was in shock. I said I don 't eat cheese he said not at all? Really!! He takes it back and now my husband has his plate and we must wait again. He won 't touch his because I don 't have mine. Needless to say when mine arrived his was ice cold. Waiter said he would find the manager... when I asked the waiter what had happened to the portion size , he said you can talk to him about both issues. He never came to the table. Not about the screw up with my food or the downgrade in the portion size of everything. The disrespect, not even to come see if we were ok! They just lost customers. We won 't be back. Money for most is scarce these days and I won 't waste it on that. They are not the only place around, as Islip and the neighborhoods around them have plenty of others to choose from."
