We walked into the main door it is definitely a smoked filled bar. Someone directed us to the dining room. We ordered appetizers. A steak and pizza. We got our salads and appetizers but 30 min after that the server came and asked us if we were ready for our ticket. We said we would like our food first. They checked and told us they just put it on. There was no one else in the dining room. The server was unapologetic and said the bar is full its first come first serve that is the way all restaurants work. We canceled the pizza but took the steak to go. That was a mistake. we stopped in here for lunch as recommended by someone in our group. short staffed like everyone else, ordered drinks, then it took forever to get our food ordered, at least 15 minutes after we got our drinks.....I ordered their single bacon cheeseburger w/fries.......there were appr 18 people in our group but we were split up at 5 different tables. We got our food relatively quick BUT some people in our group never did get their order as they forgot to enter it??? Burger came, wasn't eve as big as the bun and over cooked. The tall tables we sat at and the chairs are OMG, very uncomfortable, they have a small seat and it's like you are sliding out of them, moved to the short tables. My meal...

New ownership! Apparently this place didn 't do well during the days of Covid (see other comments). My family has been going to the Pub when we visit every few months since before the place burned down about twenty years ago and got rebuilt. After a bit of a rough start, the newest owners have really gotten this place working well. New longer hours. Shorter menu, but better food. We ate there last Saturday evening. The new waitress was good and pleasant. My hamburger was one of the best I have ever had anywhere which is saying something since I have visited nearly every burger contest winner in Iowa and Nebraska in recent years. Not bad!!!! I've been living here and since Piersons it opened around 1984. Sure, it had his ascent and descent, but since Mike and Pam sold him to some people from Little Rock, it has become totally unbearable. Eat too expensive and suck! I watched the manager chasing a client out of the door to the parking lot because he complained about not having a secondary dish with his meal. Also saw how a secluded bartender told an older gentleman (who was here forever) that she would not serve him because he was far too old to be here and "we try to attract younger people and non-locals."
