"Gladstones is a great restaurant I have loved for years. Unfortunately, we had a very poor waiter yesterday evening (Sunday August at Wish I could remember his name I am not one of those high maintenance folks who feels the world owes them the moon stars. I empathize with and enjoy being courteous to wait staff, so keep that in mind as you read this. When I asked about the batter used on the fish chips, he looked me in the eye and said it didn't come with batter, it was pan seared, which is not the case. A waiter who doesn't know a popular menu item? The batter used is light and tastes delicious. After it arrived he neither acknowledged nor apologized for the misinformation. He forgot to bring the water with lemon slices we requested. When we reminded him after the entrees arrived, he forgot to include lemon slices He gave the distinct impression we were imposing on him, and seemed preoccupied with chatting with a group of diners at an adjacent table DOG LOVERS TAKE NOTE: Although Gladstones clearly allows dogs on the patio, he kept taking issue with my small gentle poodle mix Beary (I caught the negative look he gave him). He kept making a point of stepping over my dog (who was lying down between the table and the wall, which naturally made my dog get up every single time and I would have to resettle him), instead of just serving us from the opposite side of the table which had no obstructions and was closest to the restaurant Gladstones, please make sure servers covering the patio do not dislike dogs Even so, the patio ambience and water view are lovely and we will return. However, I will have no qualms about requesting another waiter if we get him again. I actually left a small tip of but shouldn't have left him anything but the truth. And here it is Once we decided to focus on celebrating my retirement and just ignoring his issues, we had a great time anyway"

Very family friendly and our waitress was so sweet to my wild child son! She had the kids orders going with my drink so they would have time to cool as mine was cooking. recommend and will definitely be back again

Birthday dinner with my wife. We sat in the patio area, however the umbrella did not provide sufficient shade and soon became uncomfortable to really enjoy the ocean from dining opportunity. The server kept bringing us water but no one ever offered to tilt the umbrella or bring a second umbrella to block the sun from our table.
