Rams Head Tavern Savage Mill

I found this restaurant to be just average. The food, the staff, and the prices were all pretty typical. Nothing about it really stood out to impress me.

We love the atmosphere at this Rams Head location. In the warmer months, the outdoor patio is awesome! Food is average but we always go back for the atmosphere.

Sunday brunch is terrific, great food, service in a cozy atmosphere downstairs. Rams Head is also our favorite place for lunch, especially during the summer when we can sit outside. Ver carta

Food was great! However, the person who seated us had no idea what he was doing. He showed us to a table for 4 and then took 2 of the place settings away. We asked why he did this, since there were 4 of us...his explanation made no sense. Our waiter was nice, but he kept forgetting things. Luckily we enjoyed the meal once we got utensils, rolls, ketchup, etc.

The Rams Head is a spacious venue featuring two bars and two expansive dining areas. The atmosphere is very inviting, and the staff is exceptional. Their house-made beers are excellent and come in a variety of styles, and they offer one of the best happy hours in the area, with half-priced drafts and appetizers. What sets them apart is that their appetizers truly shine. I highly recommend the tuna tower (which is like a sashimi salad), and their wings are also fantastic. You should definitely give it a visit!

Not only is Nick incredibly knowledgeable, but he also makes fantastic drinks! He kept everyone entertained while we sat at the bar. I wasn’t very hungry but wanted to sample something from the menu. One of Nick’s recommendations was the crabby tots, and they were absolutely delicious! The crab dip on top was creamy and packed with crab meat, and it was loaded with cheesy goodness. The tater tots were cooked to perfection—crispy but not overdone, unlike what I've had at other places. They made for a perfect appetizer to share. We had an incredible experience at this restaurant last week! Chef Timothy truly impressed me with his new menu specials, and the beer selection was outstanding. The Steak Frites and Breaded Fried Brie were absolutely delicious! They also offered a variety of locally brewed draft beers on tap, and the sweetest bartender named Tony took great care of us. The decor of the old Savage cotton mill was beautiful, and I loved exploring the three floors of fun. The real highlight, however, was the lower basement level... the RATHSKELLER! I could easily spend days there. With a pool table, live music, darts, great beer, and fantastic food, what more could you ask for?

Kwan T was our server, and he was outstanding. We initially wanted to sit upstairs, but that section was unavailable, so we requested a table outside instead. He happily accommodated us and quickly brought us our drinks and took our orders. It was my first time at the restaurant, while my boyfriend's parents had been there before. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals—I had the dynamite burger, my boyfriend had the cheesesteak, his dad opted for the fish tacos, his mom chose a chicken wrap, and his little sister ordered the salmon pasta. To top off our wonderful experience, Kwan surprised us with a root beer float for the little sister's birthday, making for a perfect ending to our visit.

Ordering food was seamless, and everything was served promptly for our group. The split checks worked out fairly well; they got most orders correct, but a few people received the wrong check. We just swapped them around without any issues. I personally ordered the Korean burger with fries. The burger was perfectly grilled, topped with slaw and an over-hard egg, while the fries were delightfully crispy. There’s some parking available in the front, but there’s more in the back, which can be a bit confusing if you’re unfamiliar with the area—definitely consider using Google Maps to find your way.
