"However, the standout dish was definitely the Sakura roll. It featured tempura shrimp, mango, avocado, spicy tuna, and possibly some other fish, all drizzled with a delicious savory sauce and topped with jalapeño slices. Every bite of this roll was delightful; it had a nice balance of savory flavors, not overly sweet or spicy. I added a bit of soy sauce and chili oil, which made it even better. The tempura coating remained perfectly crunchy throughout. While the restaurant's exterior resembles a typical strip mall and the interior is quite plain, I'm actually pleased they prioritized their culinary skills over decor. The service was decent, nothing particularly noteworthy, but overall, I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant."

"First time experience I am absolutely in love! A new favorite excited to go again soon! The menu is very extensive which is great having wide variety. Everything was presented so beautifully with warm wishes from our hostess. The atmosphere was quietdespite having several customers which was nice inviting. Every dish had such wonderful delicate flavors which is a blessing a great change up from other places where it is overwhelming at times. I highly recommend the Love Boat which gives a decentamount for two allows the chef to surprise you with their choice of sushi. It also came with your choice of soup a salad ofcarrot ginger. The salad was such a pleasant surprise as it was light, refreshing, had a delicately sweet flavor. The hintof flavoring was such a perfect pairing for a salad one highly recommend to try. To top it off, their Plum wine was absolutelyexquisite! A beautifully robust plum flavor with a subtle hint of the alcohol gives you a great wine to indulge in for just aglass. Be aware that one glass is enough to tide you over. After less than 10 sips you will feel the effects. Their hot tea wasa warm gentle paring to offset the wine cuisine that had a delicate Jasmine flavor. Such a pleasant experience for abeautiful niche in the wall. Thank you so much!"

"My daughter and I had went to Georgetown last weekend to check out a few places to host her baby shower in April and we walked into Laurie’s cafe to check it out and we spoke to the owner Beth she seemed very welcoming and even offered to move some tea sets off a table but we liked them so we told her she didn’t have too. We discussed a few things and we were very excited to come back and try the food because we had already had lunch that day at another restaurant we were checking out so we told her we would come back and check out the food so that we could make our final choice on where we were going to host it so today Saturday February 24th we went to lunch there my daughter her fiancé and my mother and I to check it out we drove 45 minutes or so and we had high hopes and really had our heart set on holding it at this location. When we arrived the sign clearly states seat yourself anywhere you like so we did we picked a round table with a Pilar next to it so it would sit 5 people maybe and we had 4 I had stepped away to use the ladies room and when I came back I had noticed that the owner was at our table and I thought she had remembered us and maybe came over to talk about the baby shower but no she was asking us to move to a smaller table My daughter is 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow we wanted the bigger table for more room for her and for us to not feel so cramped The restaurant maybe had 2 tables with customers and was not busy We did move however I have a big issue with this treatment!! Why have a sign that says sit anywhere if you are going to have a problem with where we sit Also they had other options if a 5 or 6 people table came in so I don’t see what the big deal was or why she felt the need to approach the table in that way it’s a good thing I was in the restroom when she first came over or else we probably would’ve walked out!! We didn’t deserve to be treated that way and she even came out and talked to other tables but never to us mind you no other big parties came in while we were dining!!! A one person sat at a 4 top table but they were not asked to move to a two top table!! She never thanked us for moving tables or came by our table to see how everything was. She seemed more aggravated that we were even eating at her restaurant. I don’t understand why we were treated that way either as we didn’t deserve it we were only doing what the sign said and picked a table to sit at!! The more I think about it the more annoyed I get and I wish I would’ve said more and stood up for all of us and most importantly my daughter who is very pregnant and needed the space of a bigger table. The restaurant had plenty of options for other large parties!! I feel disrespected and mistreated and the way she presented herself today was WRONG on so many levels! Do not support this restaurant and the rude owner!!! The food was ok I did like a lot of what I ordered however the coconut cream pie I ordered for my mom and I to share didn’t seem cooked completely and it lacked flavor. My bill was over $85 for 4 plates and two desserts and two drinks and I feel for what we got it was WAY overpriced!! After the way we were treated we will NOT be hosting it at Laurie’s Cafe!! We decided to go with Sweet Lemon Kitchen and will be paying them close to $900 so next time BETH treat your customers better because you never know that could have been a good thing for your restaurant to host us and your waitstaff!!!! Don’t go to this place if your out in the Georgetown area Check out the many other places and the sweet lemon kitchen!!!!!"

"We tend to enjoy small, assorted plates, so we opted for two fantastic appetizers, thinking we might order a third if we were still hungry—though in the end, we were quite satisfied. We're fans of ceviche and often make it at home; my son frequently travels to Central and South America for work and has tried various types of ceviche there. All three options we sampled at Fuego Latino were outstanding. We requested extra plantain chips, preferring those over tortilla chips, and were served a bowl of perfectly toasted plantains. We also have a fondness for lamb but usually only cook ribs and chops at home. So, we were intrigued by their lamb dish, which turned out to be incredibly flavorful. To complement our meal, we ordered a drink with mezcal, which paired perfectly with both the ceviche and the lamb fondue. We highly recommend this gastropub!"

"I was skeptical of this restaurant because of the review I read about the cleaniliness and quality of their food… but I decided to drive by and see if it was worth eating at since there was other really good reviews… and I have to say I was not disappointed. The restaurant is in an older building but it has been remodeled and taken care of. The set up is nice and cozy casual.I worked at an Italian restaurant 10 years ago that ended up closing down. I have not been able to find good Italian food since. Some places have been average but nothing has compared until now! Frankies has a nice selection and food was delicious! This is my new favorite place to eat here in Georgetown and I can’t wait to show all friends and family that come to visit."
