Super cute spot in downtown St Charles. All vegan and gluten free. And they serve breakfast all day (which we took advantage of).

If I could give this place 6 stars, I absolutely would! The food is incredibly delicious and healthy, and the atmosphere and staff are fantastic!

I got the black bean burger and it was delicious and fresh. Best GF bread I've ever tastedI LOVED the cold brew coffee such a great flavor even without sweetener! Ver carta

They even take orders on their days off, but don't expect to actually receive anything. You'll find yourself waiting with no updates. You can place an order, but it ultimately won’t amount to anything.

Literally my happy place, the vibes make you feel so happy and at peace. The food is absolutely amazing and the people are some of the coolest! They have live music and a swing and they have books you can read! Absolutely adore!

Today was our first visit to Root Bound, and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and I can't even describe how amazing the vegan nachos were—truly a heavenly treat! The Bean Burger was delicious as well! We will definitely be returning. Thank you! Ver carta

Rootbound is more than just a café; it’s an entire experience filled with great people and friendly staff. I was truly impressed by their vegan menu, which offers a wide range of delicious options. The Southwest Quinoa Bowl and the grilled cheese sandwich are absolutely delectable. They also organize open mic music nights and other community events. Plus, their juice blends are fantastic!

I've always enjoyed this restaurant, but my recent experience was so strange and disappointing that I doubt I will order from them again. My smoothie was overloaded with CBD—so much so that it was the only flavor I noticed, and it left a burning sensation in my mouth and throat. My driver informed me that they had prepared the wrong size, so they had to redo the order. Instead of just making another 8 oz smoothie, they put it in a random glass jar. I just can't understand it. This place is so inconsistent that it hardly seems worth the trouble. All I really wanted was one of their waffles, but unfortunately, they were out of that. It's honestly the only item that is reliably good.

As a plant based eater, I 've tried to make myself love this place on more than one occasion. I 've been disappointed almost every single time. While the wait times aren 't ideal, I would be able to tolerate that for high quality food. Unfortunately, Rootbound does not meet that criteria. Three times I 've ordered a waffle and every single time the waffles were both burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside with next to no flavor. I 've had to go back to ask for a full serving of their overpriced kombucha when the pour was embarrassingly low. Their juices are fine. If you 're going there for a juice, okay.. In addition to the waffles, their other main dishes left a lot to be desired... Ver carta
