"A Jersey Shore staple, Runners' conspicuous presence along Route 35N is easy to miss if you're a first timer. However stop in for dinner just one evening and you'll be sure to never miss it again. A seafood market by day, it's no surprise that every meal tastes ridiculously fresh. Portions are always generous and pricing is very fair; even sometimes seeming much cheaper than competing restaurants. I've yet to ever have a bad meal at Runners! And if the dining room is full one night, don't shy away from takeout! The food is always well prepared so you don't lose a bit of flavor when opening it up on your back deck during a cool summer evening. Kid-friendliness: Vast selection of kid-friendly options that extends beyond just chicken fingers!"

Food was excellent. Drove from Hamilton nj to get good seafood for my birthday and lucked out. Calamari appetizer...yum. salad yum. My husband and I both got broiled combo seafood platters ..delicious. small restaurant. Half of building is a fresh seafood market. Friendly staff and owner.

My family and I spent the week in Lavalette and this was the first restaurant we ate at. The food was delicious and having a seafood store with the restaurant was super helpful and reasonably priced! Highly recommended! This place feels like a diner, but the service and food are WONDERFUL! 10/10 Recommend! BYOB and has a very local feel. We were very well taken care of by our server Lynne and we will be back next time we are in the area. We had it all, oysters, shrimp, crab, lobster and steak. "I have been coming to Seaside in the summer my entire life. My family orders from other Mexican inspired restaurants in the area and for years I have been disappointed with their food. Monte 's is a blessing. The moment I stepped foot inside to pick up my food I could tell this place was authentic. The food followed through. My tinga tostadas were one of my favorite meals I have eaten in months. They were absolutely up to the highest quality bar I have for comparison. The quesadillas were also outstanding. The veggie was delicious, though my uncle complained that the shrimp one did not have enough shrimp in it. The tacos all had good tortillas. The carnitas tasted good, it had a full flavor to it. The chicken in the tacos was dry, but the provided sauces were good. You can tell the chips are made in-house. They were very good. The guac was smoother than I expected. My family wanted empanadas. They were fine, but I didn 't expect anything special on that front from a Mexican place. On the whole this was not the best Mexican food I have ever eaten, but it so far surpasses its competition and does certain things such as the tostadas, quesadillas, and chips well enough that I am giving it 5 stars. I am ashamed it took me this long to discover Monte 's in Seaside."

"I absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was amazing, with plenty of gluten-free options available, along with a variety of daily specials for both appetizers and entrees. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, and our server was especially attentive. While parking can be limited (it’s Lavallette, a small beach town—what do you expect?), it's worth it for such a fantastic dining experience. Just a heads-up: the kitchen staff may not be able to remove every single grain of sand that occasionally comes from the beach, so let's keep that in mind! If you're in search of a fresh and delicious meal, this is the place to go. We will definitely return and leave another great review! Don’t let others’ complaints about wait times stop you from visiting this wonderful restaurant."

"The food here was so good. Great service. I would recomend making reservations ahead of time if you can. They were very accomodating and gave us the option to sit at the sushi bar, which was perfect. We loved everything especially the baked clams,the Lamb chops and all the sushi is very fresh and well prepared, all portions were very generous. Our server James was awesome.I honestly can't wait to go back next time I visit!"

"I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. I went there with a group of six, including two toddlers, and we waited over an hour for food that was only mediocre at best. When I raised my concerns about the experience, I received no response, which demonstrated a complete lack of hospitality. I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I definitely won't be returning."

"My friend hasn't stopped raving about this place for the past few weeks, so I decided to give it a try. First off, the staff. So nice and friendly, that alone would make me want to come back. The cheese steak...sooooo good. The meat was juicy and tender and very flavorful. I got the seeded bread and it wasn't too hard or too soft, it was perfect. The meat to bread ratio was perfect too. There were a lot of both and I was able to enjoy the taste of both. And the fresh cut fries? They were so so good. They were the perfect amount of crispiness and were nice and soft at the same time. So glad I listened to my friend because I haven't found a good cheese steak since I moved to this area. I definitely will be going back again and I will be recommending this to anyone who listens to me yap about it!"
