"A Sicilian friend told me this is not real Italian. We, however, decided to decide for ourselves after having read a positive review in The Detroit Free Press. Having lived in Italy, I have a high bar for what constitutes 'real Italian '. This restaurant fell short. We had to ask to be served water after having been seated for ten minutes or so. A short time later, the waiter brought my husband 's beer first and my sparkling water close to 7 minutes after that. We had to ask for bread which our waiter told us was in the oven. When he brought it to us it was certainly not out of the oven it was room temperature. I was assured my pasta would be al dente. It was mushy. I told the waiter as much when he asked how our meals were. He offered to have another plate made but I declined. He took away my food barely eaten. I ordered gnocchi to go and asked for it to be ready by the end of our meal. He told me 'no problem ', yet, we had to wait a good 10 minutes to get it. It was not good. If you don 't know Italian and are starving and in a bind, do not order any pasta if you 're picky. Otherwise, pass; it 's the equivalent of Olive Garden. I don 't know anyone who works at or owns this restaurant. I 'm writing this on my own volition based on my experience."

We had a lovely evening at the restaurant. The atmosphere was delightful, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The Branzino was the highlight of our meal!

My group of friends enjoyed delicious food and the service was outstanding. We never felt pressured that we were taking up table space. Our server Len was gracious and attentive to our group. We will definitely come back again. Ver carta

EXCELLENT service. Our waiter Tony was absolutely top notch. Our food was prepared and served promptly, and the kitchen staff even added a “Happy Anniversary” detail to our dessert plate. The food itself was wonderful best caprese I’ve ever had, and the Nutella brownie was to die for.

We hadn't been to Sapori (flavor in Italian) so, being in the neighborhood, decided to give it another try. We came early, around 5:00pm, but weren't the first arrivals. A surprising number of folks dined early there. Menu selection was good. Our selections were prepared promptly and arrived at the table hot. Compared to other similar Italian offerings, they were above average, but not top of the line. There are one or two better Italian restaurants in the commuting area. Wine choices were very good. We did not try any spirits. Overall, when we are in the neighborhood again, we'll be back.
