"Homemade lox, cured meats, little bagels that make you feel better about yourself and your carb intake while being delicious and simply the perfect hand tossed bagel... does this sound good to you? It should! Arguably on any top 5 in NYC, personally on my top 2 and it's not 2. You will likely spend more than you plan to at Shelsky's and walk out with a few sandwiches, some mezzes, some extra pickled tasty things to keep enjoying throughout the week! Does your current bagel place import Lion candy bars and have a wide selection of snacks and things? Shelsky's does. It's pretty tasty and has great bagels is my point. You get it."

Matzo ball soup is delivered frozen when ordering on a delivery app. It’s very tasty and comforting. We have COVID and 10/10 recommend the matzo ball soup as an elixir.

I just enjoyed the pastrami salmon sandwich with horseradish sauce, and it was amazing. This shop is truly a neighborhood gem, and I'm so glad we have a place like this close by.

Awesome service and bagels. Had a perfectly toasted bagel with cream cheese and pastrami salmon, perfectly constructed so that there was no excess cream cheese falling off the side. They also have the typical staples like picked herring. Ver carta

Excellent lox and other smoked fish. I love their bagels, they are on the small side (which I like). Perfect texture, not too bready. One of my favorite bagels in BK. But the lox is definitely the star of the show, it's fresh, flavorful, and cut perfectly.

If you love lox ... You will really lol this place. Small seating area. We were 4 and stopped in while picking up son. We sat at the two tall bar tables by the window front. We had a great time. Peter, the owner is really nice. Take-out mostly. Different kinds of Lox , so many amazing sandwich combos that I suggest checking out the menu online before going.

Very solid sandwich place in Boreum Hill. Located in a gourmet deli loaded with great prepared foods and a small selection of grocery items. Sandwiches and sliced meats are excellent. Hard to get a read on the bagels since the sandwiches were loaded with flavors and condiments. Pastrami salmon was especially good; tuna salad on rye bread was top notch. I'll be back. Ver carta

just the best bagel I've ever had! this has to try here is her pastrami-samon, but I don't think they can really go wrong here. the salmon is incredible and they can taste the quality of all ingredients. the staff was also super friendly and I had no problems with my order. another bonus is their excellent drink selection, as well as the other items and were for sale. 10/10!

Loved the options here. I didn't even know there were 3 different types of lox until o read their menu, nor did I know it originated in NY. I got the Peter Shelsky and it was good, although the lox tasted extra fishy. I have never been to a Jewish deli before so I appreciated the authenticity of it all. It wasn't the best bagel I've ever had but it was good. With there was more seating as well.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
