"for the early Sunday breakfast one was looking for a diner or similar that was not a good idea for the work in the city. this was the best option and could not be more satisfied! eating was solid, home cooking type, with a lot of local people who seemed to be faithfully mozens. in our experience the service was excellent, super friendly and appealing! if you want to have fun, these places are on the road, but if you want a solid, friendly breakfast, it would be hard to hit this place!"

The food is absolutely delightful and served with great care. They've recently undergone some renovations, and the improvements are very noticeable. It's truly fantastic! Be sure to give them a visit. Ver carta

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by the staff with genuine, friendly smiles. They were attentive and engaging, patiently taking my order, even when I requested a custom meal. The food was prepared in a timely manner and exactly as I had asked. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience.

Made an order through door dash and when I went to pick it up I was told they were closing early by the RUDEST female and that’s putting it nicely) I’ve ever spoken to. If you don’t know how to talk to people this is not the industry for you! Makes it hard to support black businesses when they’re nasty as hell to their own people. NEVER coming back.

It was just alright. The food was good, but the overall experience didn't impress me. I'm not a fan of paper cups and plastic forks. The young waitress had to keep going back for jelly, syrup, onions, and other items. Oh, and I just noticed that I never received any water. If I lived nearby, I might recommend it, but I would suggest skipping it if you're more than five miles away. Ver carta

This was my first visit since the original store in Marlow Heights closed. I must say the service SUCK!!!! NO SMILES At All!!!! On top if the the young girl with the multi color green hair tool my order with notes. Ofcourse the order came back incorrect. Never provided water and we had to ask for condiments. Save a trip and eat at home. The best part of the experience was being able to pay from from the app..

this place is a good old-fashioned diner specializing in breakfast. also their lunch items are top notch. it is one of the few places to serve the still creamed chipped bark on toast, my favorites. the vultures are always freshly tasted and the blooms are to die. it is a small hole-in-the-wall place and the bathroom is difficult to reach, especially when they are in a wheelchair, which is likely why they take a lot out. but it is worth eating for the great.

"Currently, the restaurant features four dining rooms: the Botanical Room, the Presidential Room, the Log Cabin, and the Lafayette Room. My wife and I were seated in the Botanical Room and opted for a prix fixe meal to celebrate Father's Day. This three-course meal included ten dishes. 1) **Chilled Avocado Soup**: Served in a martini glass, it featured peach and cucumber salsa. The avocado flavor was mild, complemented by subtle hints of cucumber and peach, with a slight tanginess. Overall, it was smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced. 2) **Pandebono (Colombian Cheese Rolls)**: These rolls had a crisp exterior and a chewy, moist, dense interior. The cheese flavor was quite light and accompanied by pepper jelly and honey butter. The pepper jelly was sweet with a hint of spice, while the whipped honey butter lacked a honey flavor but tasted good overall. This dish was decent but not exceptional. 3) **Crab and Shrimp Balls (4 pieces)**: Topped with cabbage slaw, which included lemongrass, peanut, and passionfruit aioli, this dish was a little spicy and well-balanced in flavor. The deep-fried balls were crispy without being oily and were filled with moist crab and shrimp, which added great flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed this dish! 4) **Watermelon and Beet Salad**: This salad featured watercress, red radish, watermelon, beets, feta cheese, and a citrus vinaigrette. However, the dressing was too tart due to the vinegar and citrus, lacking the necessary sweetness. The salad had little flavor aside from the beets, though it was visually appealing. 5) **Grilled Salmon**: Dressed with a butter sauce featuring aji pepper relish, dill, cucumber, red onion, and capers, this dish had a mild kick from the relish. The sauce's subtle flavors enhanced the fresh taste of the salmon, which was moist and tender with a wonderful grilled flavor. This was a standout dish! 6) **Herb Roasted Prime Rib**: Cooked between medium and medium-well, this prime rib was exceptionally tender, moist, and deliciously savory. The majority of the fat was trimmed away, and the dish was served au jus alongside horseradish cream, which had a mild heat. This was one of the best prime rib steaks I’ve ever had. 7) **Tomato, Onion, and Gruyère Strata**: This egg and bread casserole was quite bland, lacking in cheese, tomato, and onion flavors, and came off as dense rather than fluffy. Easily the least impressive dish of the evening. 8) **Everything Baked Potato Casserole**: This dish was prepared with mild cheese and topped with sour cream and diced green onions, reminiscent of scalloped potatoes, and was very tasty in both flavor and texture. 9) **Grilled Corn on the Cob, Zucchini, and Red Peppers**: These fresh vegetables had nice grilled flavors and were well-cooked, though they were under-seasoned and could have benefited from some added flavor. 10) **Dessert**: The dessert platter featured four sampler-sized treats: s'mores, cookies, mini fruit tarts with lemon custard, and root beer float panna cotta. The s'mores were unique, made with dark chocolate macaroons coated in crushed graham cracker and topped with a caramelized marshmallow swirl—quite tasty! The cookies were decorated to resemble ties and slices of watermelon; they were adorable but tasted like standard shortbread. The mini fruit tarts stood out, primarily due to the zesty lemon custard paired with fresh raspberries and strawberries. The root beer float consisted of a thin layer of root beer gelatin atop a creamy panna cotta; the root beer flavor was too diluted, making it taste odd. However, the panna cotta was rich and mildly sweet, with a lovely milky flavor. If they improve the root beer float, it could be excellent. The service throughout our meal was impeccable—attentive, informative, helpful, and friendly. After dinner, our waiter kindly showed us the Log Cabin and Lafayette rooms. The dining areas and restrooms were clean and well-kept. The historic charm and decor of this restaurant make it a perfect spot for special occasions. We truly enjoyed the atmosphere and exceptional service, and we appreciate the effort put into the food. We look forward to returning to try more dishes!"
